Recently, it has come to the attention of the staff members, that the rating system that is in place is being abused. People have been 'mass-liking' posts of a single member, in order for that member to yield a much higher amount of positive ratings than prior to this event. This gives an unfair advantage, over other players, as it gives these people masses amounts of positive ratings, falsely obtained trophy points, and gives an inaccurate position on notable members.

Rating Abuse - What Is It?
The term ‘rating abuse’ could mean a variety of different things. The most common of which will be detailed below.

Like Farming / Spamming – Like farming occurs when a player will continuously spam someone with positive ratings in order for this player to gain a higher number of positive ratings, and/or get added perks, such as trophy points, or a place on the notable members. This could include, but is not limited to; status messages, profile posts and posts in any thread. Like spamming with 2 or more people is considered like farming. Making alternate accounts for the sole purpose of giving yourself ratings is also against the rules, as well as any alternate account in general.

Note: If you like the content of one of your friend's statuses you can like it, but you can't just go on their profile and like every single thing just for the likes. Also, no, you cannot like every single one of their posts/statuses with the excuse of “Well, I liked every single one of those posts,” or “I like the person, so that means I like everything that they post,” etc.

Negatively affecting someone’s ratings – Another variation of rating abuse, would be mass-rating their posts, for a negative effect. This could be rating every post that said user has made, In a negative fashion, where it is out of place. Or, it could be rating a very helpful thread, with a negative rating, where it is really out of place. The second will require a little common sense, as it could not be detailed exactly.

    Requesting Ratings
It is also against the rules to request ratings of any kind, whether this be positive, negative, or neutral. You may not "Buy" ratings, either, the act of giving another person $ or in-game items/currency for them to rate your posts in any way. This is pretty self-explanatory, just don't ask for ratings.

These are some examples of rating abuse

    Mass rating posts:[IMG]

    Misusing the Rating System:

    Lastly...
-Use common sense, if there wasn't something we mentioned that seems like abusing the rating system to you, do not do it, as it may result in an warning points given. Participating in any activity that is similar to what has been described is strictly against the rules and will result in an infraction unless the ratings given are removed.

-TL;DR? Do not rate posts simply for the sake of giving someone rating points, only rate posts what you truly think that post deserves, and if you don't think it deserves a rating, don't rate at all.

I gave someone 1 like to reach their 100th positive, So is giving them a free like for no reason allowed?

No, this is not allowed, unless you legitimately like that one post. If you're rating for the sake of giving someone positive ratings, that is not allowed.

Is it possible that I get the disagee and rude rating I received on a thread removed? It seems similar to your third example of rating abuse shown here.

He did say that it was temporary, but no notice has been given of when the permission will be removed.

Ok. It is a pretty good permission for mods to have. Most of my rating abuse is on threads that were deleted before Cyp could reply.

I thought like farming was asking for likes, not people just spamming them

Could be. Often times it's 2 people spamming each other with likes, which is classified as like farming.

Another form is a higher offence since it breaks two rules, making alts to give yourself ratings. The main rule broken is like farming/rating abuse, and you also break the rule of alt creation (they are illegal).

Thank you. Also, like farming is more rating farming. If you want to get on negative ratings (for some reason), you do a dislike farm, or a rude farm (Hmm... Rude farm sounds wrong).
