Kit for non-donors

How about doing kit starter and getting

• 64 cobble
• 1 oak sapling
• 8 bones

 

Probably lose the cobble, and make it 1 sapling per 6 (maybe 12) hours and possibly a bone. The sapling is the only thing that can really screw people over starting. Bones can be gotten through the starter chest or /warp mob

Personally, I would support is the old /kit sapling. For those (If there are some) that seek to play for the main objectives of SkyBlock, occasionally you will have an island with a tree that produces no sapling/it falls off the edge. This would allow them to have one each our (How it was when available).

 

I really don't see the point in this. The items in it are so easy to get it just defeats the purpose of the kit. It takes what like a minute to get a stack of cobble and about 5 skeleton kills to get 8 bones. I can understand the sapling idea simply because everyday when the server is most populated all I can see in the chat is "Can somebody please give me a sapling, my tree didn't drop any" and that would help reduce spam that currently seems to be a bit of an issue -the server even crashed yesterday from it I believe however it may not have been directly because of that.

 

It is an incentive to want non-donors to keep playing on the server. any items in the kit would obviously be easy to get.

 

I can't really say I'm going to wake up in the morning and be jumping for joy over the fact today is the day I get a free stack of cobblestone...

He did say that it only takes a minute out of our lives, it's not going to kill us. I guess it just depends on the generator you have, Falkanor has a redstone powered one and I have one that is quite efficient, about 30 seconds of work for me will get me a stack. Though there is a good point that some people don't have as high-tech generators as other players I believe it's still good for only Donors to get kits, they pay extra to play on the Skyblock server. Some people pay over double the price of a singular Minecraft account (that can be used on any non-whitelisted server) for just this/these server(s)!

 

Good point. Something that I forgot to add into my first post was that, instead of cobblestone replace that with smoothstone. If this was something that would go ahead at least make it a decent material. Smoothstone is one of those things that without a dedicated generator is a real time waster to make. I'm not completely against the idea but what materials go into that kit and how many times it can be claimed during a week is something that needs to be taken into consideration before it gets finalized.

 

Diamonds and iron are so hard to get/too expencive to buy. I think in the store should make it $13.00USD

Not true, otherwise servers would not be able to have people purchase ranks (items and such).

 

It will soon be illegal, August 1st, for servers to sell ingame items. It has ALWAYS been illegal for players to sell ingame items for real money. (Note, there's a difference between selling for real money and trading for an upgrade. Selling implies you get the money and do whatever you want with it. Trading implies that you never actually exchange money, you give items over and earn a rank.)

 

So pein does that mean donors don't get kits anymore?
