    A little mention beforehand –

I have decided to re-open my application and give becoming a staff member another go after three years. I waited for a long time because I partially knew that re-applying soon after my demotion because of inactivity would be a lost cause. A lot of time has passed since then, and I have started to master the very useful skill of time-management.

Lots of people have started to move away from classic essay-writing – neatly describing what they would and could do in a neatly put-together, fluent-to-read text – and have instead started to break down their individual skills and characteristics in bulletin-like lists. Call me old-fashioned, but I'll stick to writing the essay/character description.

    Your in-game name:Pittipla

Which timezone are you in?GMT+1 [Central European Time]

What country do you live in? I currently live in Germany. Moved here two years ago from Belgium.

What languages do you speak?I speak eight languages, four of which perfectly fluent. English, German, Dutch, and Swedish. I have C1 certificate for those four, and B1 (meaning I’m conversational and have a good understanding of the language) for French and Spanish. I’m still learning Danish and Russian although my Russian has been getting better a lot.

Do you have 2FA enabled? Yes, I do.

Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? Yes, I do. Had to start collecting evidence when I became a moderator here.

Why do you think you should be a mod?I have tried to tackle this question a good amount of times before. The answer had always been “because I know I can make a change”, or “because I know how to properly moderate servers” and “upkeep a nice playing environment on the server”.

None of those things can actually be guaranteed. I’m here to show people that I’m a mature guy who likes to mess around from time to time, who’s fun to be around, and who is a great teamplayer and -builder. I like to work with people, which is what I have noticed during my two years of law studies in Berlin. Going alone is the difficult path that leads to social isolation and bitter self-pity (it’s not that extreme, but you get the point). I know how it is to work with younger, older, or even very old people, and I enjoy it a lot.

I’m very outgoing and social. Should you ever meet me, I’ll buy you a beer. Or another drink if you’re not exactly overage :t I’m not exactly stuck-up or ignorant. I like to see myself as a relatively good conversational partner, and love to have long conversations with all kinds of people. I’m very helpful to the extent where I’d probably go out of my way for sometimes even a stranger. Which is why I approach the question differently and see things differently nowadays. I like to think of myself as a normal guy who likes to make people’s days better by being polite, respectful and generally helpful. I’m open to critique and do accept my mistakes. I try improve and move on.

I’m very experienced when it comes to working with and alongside other people and players on minecraft servers. I used to play a lot of minecraft, had my fair share of self-run servers and have always enjoyed helping players with questions, disputes, and/or issues. I speak a lot of languages, which has always come in handy. It makes things very easy when it comes to meeting new people. But also on Minecraft have I made a lot of friends on an international and even global scale.

To conclude this very messy application, I want to add (and contradict myself) that it doesn’t matter if you’re a fast reader, quick typer, polyglot, fast eater, and/or 6’8”. All that matters is being able to understand others and being able to apply common sense in certain situations. Teamwork is what forms and defines a team. All in all, and with that being said, I would dare to say that I would fit right in.

Also, people tell me I’m friendly. :D

How long can you be active on the server every day?I can be active about 2-3 hours a day. I know that’s not a terrible lot, but I can extend those times, considering I am a student and have buttloads of time on my hands.

How long have you been playing Skyblock? I first joined Skyblock around July 2012. Even though I haven't always been as active as I was back then, I do come on very often. I even started playing again about two weeks ago. Before I just came on every day to talk to people, nothing else. I had a pretty much finished island :)

Have you ever been banned? (if yes, why?)I have never been banned on any of the Skyblock servers nor have I gotten a ban on any other server out there in the past three years.
I’m very disciplined when it comes to following rules and knowing how to behave accordingly.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?Yes, I do. I have even been a moderator on Skyblock a couple of years ago. Good times, but I certainly didn’t have the right attitude to be able to properly work with other players decently. I like to believe that I do know now. I’m not bossy, I know how and what to tell people. I’m open to critique and accept my mistakes. I’m not lenient when it comes to serious infractions. I’m helpful, fun to be around and glad to assist anyone who is in need.

Do you meet the requirements to become a staff member? I would say that I definitely do. However, I leave that open for other people to judge.

This application was completely edited and re-written. It’s a lot more compact now because I’m not going to write things that aren’t true or that I won’t have any impact on. I have been around since July 2012, seen players come and go, and know how Skyblock is run. I enjoy being on here and like the community a lot. Even though it has changed along with the server, it will always be fun to come back to.

    Kind regards,

    Pittipla

I thank you for the quick reply and even supporting me to some extent!
As for Matt, I rarely see applications longer than 1000 words on these forums. In addition to that, I don't pay attention to my word-count; it's the quality that matters. Thank you for your opinion, though. I'll go ahead and improve what can be improved.

No support as of right now. The app is good and you are highly mature, but when you were trial mod you got it out of the blue and wasn't active enough. Also, help on the forums and be more invested.

    Best of luck sir!

Support, you were very helpful when you were a tmod and very nice to me when I was scammed; however, you should edit out the server names and ip's in your app.

I already said I wasn't active enough as a T-Mod. It also was the reason for my demotion:
Furthermore, what exactly are you implying with 'out of the blue' and 'be more invested'? Regarding the first comment; please explain yourself. My apologies. The latter, however, I think, is addressed towards my 'input'? All I can say is that I actually am helping out where I can. I am online a lot. Though, if your remark regarded my activity on the forums, then yes: Agreed. I should help out more on the forums.

Good. I see you are now playing more. Due to me never online anymore, I won't be able to tell you if you're active or not. I still think you got it way out of the blue and I didn't even know who you are when you got Trial Mod. Anyway, 50% Support.

EDIT: I never knew who you are. You just got mod one day. I never saw your app on the forums and never saw you in game. Be more invested, well just be very active on the forums. You are now doing that. Remember to help and yeah. :p

Trust me, I am online on a daily basis :)
I don't think I ever met you either. I do think I have been on your island once before I was a T-Mod, though.
I didn't simply get Mod one day; I had written a long application showcasing my skills, what I could do and what I would do. It was lengthy, accurate and detailed. It was a very good application, in my opinion. I'd give you a link to it if it wasn't in the archives. So, from my perspective, it wasn't completely 'out of the blue'. But that's just my opinion. Though I must agree, I was promoted to T-Mod rather fast in comparison to other applicants. Which probably didn't give you the chance to look at it.

You should definitely play on skyblock again. I know from several people that you were a kind person. Getting to know you would be a pleasure. You were a high-ranked donator, I believe.

This ^ You did a decent job as a mod when you were online, but you got trial out of the blue. I had no idea who you were. You showed us you had what it takes, you just were not able to get on much. I believe that if you are able to be as active as you say, then I will give you support. When I have the time to get on net, I will check to see if you are on. I will keep an eye on you :)

If you're gonna be inactive, tell the staff, just a heads up if you get re-promoted.
I think you were a good member of the staff team, so support!

Well, I can only hope I left a good impression as it is not up to me to judge my own performance.
Again: Granted, I did get T-Mod rather fast after applying. I was on often, before I was promoted, though.
Considering I am talking non-stop on .net, I find it rather peculiar that several people do not seem to have noticed me at all.
Of course, being more active is a must. I won't be traveling abroad too much, anyway.
I'd be glad to see you on!

A fine piece of advice which I probably should have followed earlier. I highly appreciate your support, though!

    Thank you. :)

I haven't ever noticed you or seen you in-game. Also, I do not remember you being a T-Mod, possibly before my time? Your application is very mature, and you have a lot of information there. My only thing would be to format the main paragraph so it isn't so long and hard to read in one sitting.

Also, why were you demoted from T-Mod? That is something you should address on your application.

But congratulations on so much support from important people in the community! That's a whole lot more than I can say! 95% support.

I was a T-Mod before you joined the website. I'm assuming that means you signed up only days after you first joined the server. Thus, I'm quite sure it was before your time.
To answer your question why you never see me online: I'm European; our online-sessions are, I assume, not overlapping each and every time. I have been on the server for quite some years now. I took a small break during my exams and decided not to come on whilst preparing for those. About the time you joined. I am back now, though. Have been more active than ever and am helping out again where possible.
I already had explained the nature of my demotion. No odd reasons for my demotion at all, no worries:
Meaning I didn't manage to come on very often as, again, my mid-term exams had started and I foolishly decided to apply exactly before my exams.
My exams are over now, though. I'm graduating soon, going on a few trips, etc.
    Voilà: coming online more frequently.

    As for this:
    Thank you very much!

I support you becoming a moderator.

I have noticed you amongst the sea of greenbeans helping people that ask questions in chat.
Between your nicely written application, and your positive attitude towards helping people in-game, I think you would be perfect for a moderator position.
