I don't know about anyone else, but I would like to know if someone who was a follower stops following me. I think that there should be an alert for this. Please tell me what you think of this.

No one really follows me but I think this is a great idea. Maybe there can be a pop up that asks you to type in your reason of unfollowing this person.

I don't want my profile covered with players posting and asking why I unfollowed them. If a player chooses to follow someone else, there is a reason that they chose to do it. Whether the person makes good posts, is mod that you like, or perhaps a friend of yours in game. You have a good idea of what you're getting into before you click follow. Also, you cannot assume that every single person on the forums will happily accept the fact that they've lost a follower and I do not want to deal with the tension that that would be caused. I find no particular reason why the Forums need to have the notification, and if they were to be implemented, it would cause more harm than good.

If the people are spamming you and annoying you about it, you can always ignore them. That is why it is there, but people tend to ignore the ignore button and get mad at the people who are spamming them. I agree that there is too much drama around here. I don't think that this will cause more. The people who get unfollowed might, but they can be ignored.

I think that people should be less sensitive in general and not take things personally. Though I do realize that even though I am very good at separating professional from personal, not many people are. If someone does something that messes up something on the professional level, it doesn't change my personal opinion of them and vice versa. Now a couple of times when someone unfollowed me, I asked them why. I didn't take it personally. I just was curious if I should take it personally or not because I almost never do. (it turned out that one of them didn't even mean to unfollow me lol.) If they hadn't responded, I would have left it alone. I know that some people won't though, and if that happens, the ignore button is your friend. I also think that it's more likely to hurt peoples' feelings when they don't get an alert. If they did something wrong that made the other person mad, they would get the signal with an alert. When there isn't an alert, they might not know that the other person is mad at them, and they would keep on doing whatever it it that the other person doesn't like. A lot of people don't like to go and tell people what is bothering them so things don't get talked about. If the alert was there, it would give them an opportunity to talk about it and fix it.

Yes because some people never realise that they have lost followers.

By the way, to all of you who voted "no," I understand your side of the argument, I always make it a point to come up with arguments against whatever idea I have. Not only does it make me more prepared for the people who disagree with me, it also gives me a better understanding of my own opinion.

No offense intended, but it sounds like you are trying to hide something from the the people that are unfollowed. I don't know about everyone else, but I would be more offended if people thought that I couldn't handle being unfollowed so they hid something from me that I would eventually figure out anyway.

I voted no because it will create hostility.

Usually I follow people who I have traded with. If I unfollow them, they may get angry and grief/spam in retaliation.

People will respond emotionally to being unfollowed. It's like being unfriended. #Hurtful

    Adrian_Monk_,
I understand that you would like to understand why there are people that disagree with your idea to create an Unfollow Alert. There is nothing wrong with that. But the tone in this thread has changed. I am happy to express my thoughts and ideas with you, and from the other votes in the polls and the messages posted in the comments, it is very clear that I am not alone. But I don't want to have to think about the fact that every single comment I post is going to be riddled with bullets shot from your gun of good intentions. I'm not saying that during discussion there is no room for disagreement. That is not true. I don't to fight you, nor do I want to be negotiated to the other side, so to speak. Just because you think

doesn't mean that it's your job to tell them what to do or to make them change. Everything on the Forums is done FOR the players. If you think that the players on the forums need to be less sensitive, I would say the opposite. I would say that we, as a force need to help and look out for the needs and interests of the Forums and its participants. So when I say that the alerts shouldn't be implemented, I say that because it is what I think is best for me AND what I think is best for the Forums.

I wasn't trying to convince you to come to my side of the argument. I was simply responding to your post. If you don't want to be part of a debate, don't vote and don't take a side. That is fine with me, but I don't want you complaining when I tell you why I disagree. Nice writing by the way. I liked the "riddled with bullets shot from your gun of good intentions." very good metaphor.

I understand that you follow people that you have traded with. That is fine. This isn't about the people who you follow, this is about the people that follow you. It doesn't matter if you unfollow them or not. I would just like a notice when someone unfollows me. Again. If there isn't an alert, it is like you are hiding something from them.
