Recently on teamspeak, lots of people have been doxing. Doxing is finding out your ip, then finding out all of your personal information. It recently happened to me and I was very scared. I hope this can become a rule so moderators can ban on teamspeak for.

But for the people who don't, it is scary.

I agree with this. But there is no true way we can stop this. Of course, banning them will help but there will always be more out there.

You have the right concept of doxing, but not entirely. Doxing is using any information, even a username, to achieve personal information about a target. It can avoid your IP, or go further depending on how deep the person can/wants to dig.
Another thing regarding doxing is that nobody (Moderators) can tell who is doxing to be able to ban them unless they publicly post the dox and it is linked back to that person.

They say generally say who they're doxing. And if you ban them enough, they'll hopefully stop.

Most people who actually are doing it, won't publicly announce it. I agree with you.

If they say they are doxing you, most likely they are trying to intimidate you -- aka lying, or just not very bright.

This is what most people do. I own a server and most people that ask for OP and I say no, they claim that they are going to DDoS me. (Yes I know this is different). Anyways, none of those threats have actually been true and it is quite rare that it happens. It's also like Xbox, people say they are going to hack your account all of the time but on a rare occasion, does it actually happen.

Exactly. It is how the internet operates when people get mad, threats get thrown around.
As for the suggestion, I don't think it is possible, however if it were it would probably be auto-accepted as it is illegal activity.

Understand that doxing is not the easiest thing in the world, some cannot get doxed, some can if you leave a trail. If you are one to associate your username with your real name online, give out age, or other personal information, then you may be able to get decently doxed.
Personally I don't find it to be a big deal.

Change your ip from static to dynamic, everytime you get ddosed unplug your router plug it back and your ip changes automatically

Everyone on this thread is wrong.
All your information is on the internet anyway! Facebook, Skype, Email.
The people who Dox you are just doing a few basic searches that anyone can do and it's pulling up information, which is what Google is meant to do, it caches information.

You don't want your information leaked? Stop posting it.

Doxing and DDoSing are different things. Doxing traditionally has nothing to do with IP addresses, unless it's about finding out information such as which ISP you're with. DDoSing ONLY cares about IP addresses, since thats only what they're attacking.

Tip: Use a VPN. Easy, cheap, and completely eliminates the problem of someone finding out your IP address.

For Doxing, make sure to separate your online activities into ones that you want to have kept anonymous, and use pseudonyms exclusively for that.
