Dude, get this, Bridging = Ban. It is that simple. Also, as Keeper said, you sren't anymore special than the rest of us. Why do you think that you can have another 45x45 island? There is a chance that the player comes back. My neighbors were inactive for 4 months 24 days and I saw them a few days ago. Long story short, no, you do not have the permission.

First off, you're not an admin so you can't make the call. Second, the fact that you were monitoring them says maybe YOU were planning to take THEIR island. Third, I know moderators who have taken extra islands. Your points are rendered sort of invalid.

And yes, I know that I'm not any more special than anyone else here. I'm just slightly more intelligent than your average individual.

 

Look, I play org buddy. Islands are protected with world guard. You can't bridge. I monitor my neighbors to see when I can say hi. I have played for a year and never bridged or griefed. JUst because I monitor my neighbors, does not mean I will grief. Why would you think that? It would be practically impossible to grief since WorldGuard.

Actually, my point is still valid. The staff members that have taken extra islands are Super Mods. Hence on the Super. These are the staff members that have an extra trust level with Cyp.

I know I am not an admin, but may I refer you to the rules where it say "No Bridging or Griefing"?

 

But that player may still come back to play skyblock and monitoring? More like taking an interest in if you have any neighbours.

Rule 1: No griefing!
Offence Level: High
This is the number rule of every single server. Unfamiliar with the term, like spellcheck is? Griefing is the changing of one's property that you have no rights to. Still not get it? Griefing is where you take/place/move blocks that are not your own or you do not have permission to. Why have it illegal? Say you made an epic beacon tower using 3 hundred diamond blocks. If someone steals all that, wouldn't that seem illegal? Griefing can also be considered the gaming term for stealing.

Isn't bridging also a rule? It surely is, it is the placing of blocks (usually wood or cobble) in territory you do not own. It is the common way to get to someone's island to grief.

What happens if you get caught? You get banned, and there is a pretty low chance of getting unbanned on the second offence, but it is a tiny bit easier on the first offence. Please note, when you grief, "logs" are made, making it so they know what was taken/placed, who did it, and a way to revert it. If griefing is reported close to when it happened, there is a pretty good chance a rollback can be done.

Looting also falls in this category, since you are taking/placing blocks in a chest that do not belong to you. Even if there is one piece of cobblestone, you can still get banned, do not take ANYTHING that you have no rights to.

Hacking ALSO falls in this category. Why? You are adding/removing stuff that is not your property or have permission to. In this case, the server itself. Hacking it taken more severely because it is not common at all, and most hacks are big.

How it can be legal...
Ok, sounds strange on how to make it so you can do it. There are a few cases where donors are asked to destroy stuff on people's island for them (ex: /fly). As long as the person has proof of a conversation to do it and only does that they are told to do, it is legal for that one person. You can't bridge or loot period. No way to make it legal.

Also, you can bridge to make a boarder for your island. Need to know your boundaries for your island? Just build 49 blocks from your bedrock. Your space can be 99x99 blocks (I wish 100x100), and you have no height/depth limits set by the server, only by Mojang (between Y = 1 and Y = 256)

 

If you are smarter than the rest of us, why don't you understand that you can't?

 

If I wanted to bridge, I wouldn't have asked permission. If I get this request granted, then I have rights to it and it's not griefing.

EDIT: Also, there's an accidental bridge to my island anyway because part of their island was deleted when I created mine. There's water that pours onto a wooden bridge onto my island.

If you would like what I think, even though I'm no .net mod, this is what I think,
I guess you could expand an extra 5 blocks or something. If the island owner comes back and restarts, you lose that.
I guess you could say it's a "it's-your-funeral" type of thing. Of course, I doubt that you could take over it completely. Just maybe go a few blocks over the limit.

Also, you cannot overtake the island and break the blocks on it, but extending up to it is fine, you just run the risk of it being deleted and trust me, when it does, youll be pissed.

I jumped straight from the original post to here, I'm just saying whatever you're doing, if it fits those standards, then sure. Like sala said, just dont grief, but you are putting yourself at risk... That's how I lost my chest full of iron and redstone, though so Id be careful what you put there
