    Hello Skyblock.

It has come to my attention that skyblock.net is under attack from corruption. Offline mods, lawlessness, and even a forum attack has made me think we need to tighten authority. We need to lower offline mod days considerably, ban all mods who perform lowly by our hypothetical server standards, and reward those who work odd hours of the day(An moderator working times that are late in the evening or early in the morning for some countries, where most of the crime happens in those timespans.) I find it disgusting that some mod only apply for the power, or apply even though they don't have time to.

    1. Give rares(or nice things) to moderators who go beyond the call to duty.
    2. Fire mods who don't moderate that much
    3. Create a minimum hours and a time zone for a moderator to work.

Just a opinion(god I hope I don't come across as a complete idiot like last time)

The main issue with enforcing a minimum hours and time is that we're volunteer workers with real lives. I for one work and have school, if I can't manage to get on then that sucks but it's just how it is :/.
As for giving rares, that would be bad as they're supposed to do their job because they like skyblock, not for frivolous rewards.

I agree that mods should be given some type of small reward for dealing with the shady stuff that goes on but some of the things if implemented would make the position less desirable and make Crew sound like some sort of tyrannical ruler(Specifically 3.) but mostly everything else is good:cat

A real mod does not require a reward. Modship is granted to those who can handle the position. While some do much better with it than others, they are chosen for a reason. A reward eliminates those prospective picks and just forsees many "Give me mod, I'll do whatever you want" people.

It isn't hard to lie in an application, fake a few details, and then claim the reward and begone. Not to mention those mods that get hired, would claim the reward then find themselves fired later still in possession of whatever it may be.

As for specific times that is completely up to the mod in question. As Pein said, we have lives to deal with. Work, school, other priorities that surpass skyblock. We do the best we can, but sometimes people need to take leaves. And sometimes it happens all at the same time. However, I assure you, the mods are always here and ready.

We do receive rewards. The reward of doing something we want to :) Also, later in our moderating life, we maybe be rewarded with global mod/super mod

You are given an award for working hard and doing your job correctly, not for becoming a mod.

Thats my point. Faking that kind of a thing isn't difficult. People would get the position, do a bit of good work, get their reward then do nothing.

Moderators are 100% voluntary, if you want payment for doing moderation.. Well that's kinda pathetic.
All I wanted was a few thank you's.

Yea, most mods are under the age of 18, or are still minors. A large majority are under the guidance, assistance, and *cough* torture *cough* of our parents (jk I  you mom) We can be limited on time on the computer for what ever reason. Homework, life, hobbies and everything can affect our moderating time. I am lucky enough just to have enough to be on for a good amount of time.

New friends? People look up to you? You're respected in the community and you have a sense of where you fit in?

But I guess people like you just require monetary things... That might get mods applying who only want the monetary rewards and don't actually want to help.

I actually agree that feeling like you belong in a community is reward enough:D,People looking up to me, not so much, and I wouldn't apply for a higher position in the community unless i knew I had the time to be active enough on the server to actually help. And to explain my "small" reward, I mean't something that wouldn't affect gameplay but something like your name on a sign somewhere

I agree with this to an extent. On the mod app it does require the applicants to specify how much time they're willing/able to be on. And I bet you that none of those correlate with the degree to which some mods are never seen or heard from.

Modding is as you said, a volunteer job. If mods are unable to put in the time to which they agreed to, they should state it obviously Eg. "Going on vacation for 2 weeks" or "Exam period for the next 3 weeks", or else, resign from that position completely.

The fact of the matter is that they are not putting in the hours they agreed to, and some haven't been for ages.
