Sand and gravel generators: Are they legal?

I am working on making a biodome island. It will be a village encapsulated inside of a dome with a mountain-esque structure and a small forest surrounding the area.

And yeah, I need a lot of glass. And grass.

Now, I can earn the grass in the Mob Arena and by selling DC's of Smooth Stone. That part is pretty easy, actually.
But the amount of glass that I need is... well, slightly terrifying.

I've no intent to sell it (considering sand trade is illegal and I've no use for gravel [or flint]) but I am just trying to figure out precisely how much work I am looking at having to put in for this project to be complete.

Note: I do not HAVE a generator at this time. Just trying to figure out what my options are before I become too invested in one route.

 

I'm not sure you are even able to do it. I thought it has been fixed.

How long did it take for item duplication to be completely broken? If it really is completely broken.

This idea had better turn out as awesome as I am picturing it or I might cry because of all the work I am putting in to it....

go to /warp trade

and buy glass

 

That's the only option left to me here and was the original intention.

Here's the problem; I have a 101 diameter dome to construct. Even if the mountain-esque structure takes up 40% of that (a more than generous allocation) I am still looking at well over 10,000 glass blocks to be placed.
Can't be panes. It would look weird.

That being said, I can get 4 blocks of glass for every 1 Grass. That still leaves me with more than 2,500 blocks of Grass that I need to gather in order to complete just the dome. This is not including the Grass I need to layer over the base layers of stone I am using to define my parameters for teraforming.

3,000 Grass is my current estimate. This isn't including the purchases I have to make of God Diamond Pickaxes to harvest from my Smooth Stone Generator, purchases of glass for panes in buildings, the purchases I had to make in order to build the Stone Generator....

Now, let's be generous in assuming that I can earn 64 Grass for every DC of Smooth Stone that I can sell. I've made as much before, I've seen it sold for as much since, but it doesn't always happen. I would need about 500 DC's. Sure, I could sell some of my spoils from the Mob Arena and I probably will. With my Generator complete, I don't have much of a need for Redstone, so I can make a bit off of that. I don't dig iron or gold blocks and I've no intention for a rail system.
So, let's say optimistically that I only need 300 DC's of Stone mixed in with my regular appearances at the Mob Arena.

I hope you can understand why I could wish for a Sand Generator. Haha.

I'm not about to break the rules. Just saying. I've a long road ahead of me and I'd love to just have it finished. lol

Technically, this is a new thread. It would be reviving an old topic. Since I am a new boot around here, you'll have to forgive my ignorance. I was not aware that this was a topic with a resolution as all I have heard in game is that Sand and all derivatives thereof are illegal to trade except from the Villager Traders.

Now, how does one obtain a Medical Card for sand?

Because Lucario is legit my favorite Pokemon of all time and I like pissing off as many fangroups as possible at the same time.

But for real, when I got Pokemon Y, I bred the Lucario that I got from what's her boots as soon as I got it just to start over with Riolu as my REAL starter.
I always end up doing that....

 

From what I last heard they're allowed as long as you don't trade the glass/sand off your island.

As far as I know Noobcrew's position hasn't changed, although the Generator Glitch is most likely fixed. The point being, it's legal to do so long as the sand doesn't get traded or leave your island.

 

Ok, Yes a Gen is Permitted for PERSONAL use. The Moment you sell ANY of that sand, gravel or By-products, you will be punished. But, until then, Soldier on! xD and have fun!
