Global Updates - February 4th, 2025 Increased duration of auctions within the SkyAuction (/ah) from 3 days to 7 days. A tax of 1% has been added to all items sold within the SkyAuction. This was originally set to 5% but I decreased it to 1% due to recent comments. I would agree that the rate of 5% is a bit high on some items that are sold, but I think a rate of 1-2% is fair and any type of "money sink" on an Economy server or any game for that matter is always beneficial to the overall economy in the long-term. If you prefer to skip the tax, selling directly to players is always encouraged. Mob stacks have been increased from a maximum of 99k mobs to around 2.1b (max integer). I have noticed herds of mobs on some islands that are maxed out at 99k and will no longer stack, ultimately leading to areas with large amounts of mobs, which mob stacking aims to prevent. I do see the issue with some players needing multiple mob stacks in some areas for farming however, I will see if we can go about a way of having multiple stacked mobs near each other without fully merging. Mobs will currently merge if they are within 5 blocks of each other, I have decreased this to 4, which will take effect on the next server restart. Ideally if stacked mobs are near each other and you don't want them stacked, they must be more than 4 blocks apart. Mobs will wait around 2s before merging with a stack, compared to instantly stacking like before. This can reduce some latency with the server as it will not have to constantly look for mobs to merge. Items on the ground will wait around 40 ticks longer before stacking, the maximum stack for most items have increased from 2048 to 4096. Receiving your Player Head as a reward from completing all challenges has been removed. Additionally, receiving a Skeleton Skull from the "Monster Slayer" challenge has also been removed. This is of course due to players farming related heads with alts, and even though completing all challenges takes time/resources, it is not worth policing. We will add the ability to receive these types of heads in a different format soon. The additional monetary rewards given for completing all challenges such as Grass Blocks or Skybucks has been increased for now. (10 Grass -> 15 Grass | 10,000 Skybucks -> 25,000 Skybucks) FYI: We are looking into limits for the amount of placed Observers per island. They can contribute quite a bit towards latency and currently on Economy, there is a single island with perhaps thousands of Observers (and Dispensers) that incur around 40% of the server tick when loaded. We will set a limit that is fairly high so that normal machines are not affected, though our plan is to restrict those with massive amounts in use. Let us know your thoughts.
Someone please post a screenshot of a 2.1 billion cow So currently no way to get player heads at all? correct me if I'm wrong but weren't players alting for heads when Mob arena was a thing? if any way of getting a player head comes back the same thing will happen unless it becomes punishable for "farming related heads with alts". --> on another note good update for TPS.
finally lol as sad as this is for actual new players it was time to put a stop to this (this made me a little sad but its ok at least i can save a little money now)
RIP to my business buying player heads off newbies. Getting money into the hands of new players really helped get people started on the server and helped them stick around. Hope to see a new way to obtain them soon.
So I hear that my player heads are going to skyrocket in price In all seriousness it’s good that we’ve stopped this for a while as the value of them was going down and down, bought some custom ones for 2 stacks each the other day
[EDIT]: Farming skulls seems to be a survival server issue only, skeleton skulls rarely sell on economy. Which leads to the impression its a lack of grass issue across that server rather than an overflood of heads from challenges. Out of all of the updates within this post, this is the worst imo. Like way smack everyone in the face who's been completing their challenges to win their own player head only to now discover there's no way they can ein it, and that completing all 57 challenges has been futile and pointless. If its to stop players from farming playerheads then there should be other ways around it, all this does is stops any other genuine player from obtaining a reward for spending hours in game completing lists of challenges to win that reward. What the player does afterwards is entierly up to them. If they decide to sell the head cheaper or more expensive that's their reward for completing the challenges. Regarding farming rewards, it still keeps the head market going. Maybe right now they're cheaper than usual because of lack of grass in the server rather than an overflow of heads. Alt accounts are allowed to be used. There's an account limit at one time but you're allowed to join on asany accounts as you wish, otherwise just straight up stop alts from being allowed. This is literally pointless other than to ruin more in game rewards for players playing the game.
Will this affect piston powered crop farms? Will this affect mapart platform flushes that rely on observers?
Global - Player head purchase on skyblock store | Skyblock Official Site So you’re saying there’s a chance
okay abbie abbie just hear me out okay just here me out so like when crew tells you that they will add a new way to gain heads you don’t speak bad about it i am NOT giving up on even a hint of an idea that /ma j is coming back okay?
Fr, this will be good. But I'm worried about how they're introducing it if the entire reason they've stopped them is due to alt accounts being used. Does this mean I'm no longer able to get my mapaet accounts' head just because it's an alt account? Like, we're is the wall between alt account abuse, and genuine alt accounts that play. Every account that goes through the effort of completing over 50 challenges, should be entitled to win their own head. Custom heads have become a tradable market on the server, especially for survival. The game is being played. Amd completed as intended. So allow us our in game rewards as intended. Taking tax from us, stopping cross server vote rewards, turning off mob ai, now we're not allowed to claim our own heads by completing challenges. What's gonna be removed or taken from us next restart?
Best case scenario is that they make it so you have to do more challenges or make a cooldown of like 10 minutes between each challenge so it is still obtainable but not as easy to bot/alt
Due to this change certain Redstone machines cannot be made that require you to be certain place on a block that players would use a skeleton skull for also I get why this change was made but people collect heads that's what they do. I personally would like my head and that has been made unobtainable now which is quite unfortunate
Also just wanted to add I personally do not like the change with the heads in regards to the fact that I do not have my head and I would like to keep it as a piece of memorabilia. I personally think this change should be reverted as this could have a very negative effect on the community and new players. New players sell their head make money so they can make a farm and grow on economy that's how most players start if players do not have something to sell in the start game they may not stay within the community but I do understand why this change was made but I don't think removing them is the correct choice. Do what you will with this information.
So like did we read the part where we are told that they are adding a new way to get our heads or not
I am aware I seen that I'm talking about currently until they add it because new players do require something to help them get started [edit, I am not aware how skyblock works but for economy players sell their head to start the game so they can invest into farms and stuff]
