Withdrawn MrEPro's Mod Application

Hey, I'm MrEPro, real name William (English) or Cem (Turkish - pronounced Jem!). I'm a 20-year-old university student, studying criminal law. I hope you're all having a great day!

I've been playing on this server for roughly four years now, being mostly active, but have taken a couple breaks off it to focus on school, and now university. But with university coming to a close soon, I've found myself with more free time to spend playing. You'll see me more on the survival server than the eco server, which I began on, but I do pop on eco a couple times a day to chat with others there. I've rediscovered a love for Skyblock, and think that now would be a great time to throw my hat in the ring for a potential candidate for Helper. Thanks for reading!

Can you speak any additional languages? Yes! I'm fluent in both English and Turkish, and GCSE level German. (For the non-Brits, it just means I've got a basic understanding of German)

Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? Yes, in the forms of OBS and simple Windows screenshots.

How long can you be active on our platforms every day? On forums, I can be active pretty much any time needed, the same can be said for Discord after my uni classes. In game, I can be online >6hours per day on weekends, this does shrink to about 3 hours during weekdays, but I'd still consider that pretty active.

When did you first join Skyblock? I joined on the first day of January 2021. I played a little bit on classic years and years ago, but don't think that really counts. Ever since 2021 I've stuck around, because this server has a vibe like no other - it might be smaller than mainstream servers, but the little community and friends you make here could never be replicated on the big servers.

Have you ever been banned on any platform? Nope. I'm a good guy, I swear!

Do you have any past moderation experience? Yes, but not on Minecraft. I moderated a few smaller Fortnite Discord servers a couple years back, where I learned to deal with rotten apples, feuds and disagreements in a calm, well-mannered way. I believe these qualities are important on the Skyblock network too.

Why do you think you should become a staff member?

I have five main reasons I think I'm qualified to join the staff team:

Helpful: I will always try help players in any way I can, both in-game and off. No question is too stupid or difficult for me to try help with. This can range from redstone (I know a lot of), to helping newbies get started (supplying with pickaxes, stone, food etc), to answering general questions in the chat. I try to be that one person people can rely on for help in and around the server if ever needed, and think this is a desirable quality for a successful Helper.

Calm and Composed: I do not fold under pressure. I would not lash out at anyone, nor would I abuse permissions granted as a Helper. I like to think of myself as impartial and professional when required, but also an approachable guy who will make jokes and fool around - but only when the time is right! When serious support is needed, I can and would always meet that need. That's one thing training as a lawyer taught me.

Friendly: As (kinda) stated above, I'm a nice guy! I'm willing to make friends with anyone who shows decency and respect when needed, and can translate this into a Helper position to be a staff member easily approachable for anything needed. I'm good friends with a lot of people on the server on both survival and eco, and (I hope) they would tell you the same thing - I'm a relaxed, respectful guy, who is easily approachable and nice to talk to.

Grateful: This server has been a part of my life for many years now! People have come and gone, but the server and its vibe is always there. I want to cement my part in a server I do really love, and want to give back to a community that is truly awesome. I believe that joining the staff team and helping out around the game and forums would do this.

Keen to learn: I work great both in a team and on my own. I can promise you all I'd be devoted to working alongside Mods, Smods, etc to help me become the best Helper I can be. But I work great on my own too, and can handle situations on my own in the game if needed, without breaking a sweat.

Note: I'm gonna be honest here and say I do need to increase my Discord activity - have never been too active on there, but I am willing to engage with the Discord community too. Don't take this as some kind of neglection of Discord, it is something I am willing to work on if need be.

Apart from a lack of Discord activity (which I will strive to mend) I think I am highly qualified to join the staff team as a Helper, and think my five-point reasoning is enough to prove so.

I meet the minimum requirements for staff.

TLDR: I'm helpful, friendly, active, fair, composed, keen to learn, and my Turkish name is pronounced with a J!!!

I don't really know you that well personally due to timezones I believe so I am currently forced to be neutral, However I am totally leaning more towards support
I know for fact you're patient and eager to help those around you purely from the one interaction we've shared!
So I really just have to be online during the time you are on and such, but you've totally got this if our brief meeting is anything to go by!

 

Sorry, satire as this may be if it is,, but I have to leave no support here. In the past you've made me feel very uncomfortable with your behaviour towards me and others, through the forums and in game.

What I am pleased to see though, is your improvement since then. I feel you have a long way to go but you're on the right path towards becoming a supportive player that I'd like to see as staff one day. Good luck with your application ✨️

 

Yeah, I guess you are right in a sense. I'm not sure I would say my behaviour as such was discomforting, maybe my attitude per se, but I am glad that the cold feelings are starting to disappear. Was nice speaking to you the other day though. Maybe you can reevaluate this in the coming few months. Thanks for the feedback

 

Iirc it was only a few months back that we had a, let's call it a disagreement. Which happens, but the way I've taken in your behaviour towards me, attitude, I wouldn't want to see that as a staff quality. Like I say though, recently I see you being nicer towards people including myself. So I'm proud of you for that. Keep it up and in a month or few I'm sure I'll see improvement ts worth updating.
