Global Make Crate Key Animation Skippable

Hello all,

I personally dislike the fact that some crate keys have unskippable animations, which take 10 seconds each (tested 10 keys with a stopwatch) to complete in order to receive the reward. I have seen on many other servers, which offer similar RNG crate content, that you can simply cancel the rolling animation by pressing E to close the inventory, upon which the items will deposit themselves automatically into your inventory.

I suggest making crate key animation skippable. It is a small change and will not be super impactful even if implemented, but will save us 9.5 seconds every time a crate is opened.

Edit: Apparently vote crate keys can be spammed now if you just aim at the sky/not a chest and rightclick while shifting and holding them but other keys do not.

 

I'm on mobile, so if this is tagged Skyblock instead of global, I will apologise and remove the comment later. But vote crates ARE skippable and have been for a long time. Crouch-right-click will open a vote key anywhere instantly.

I do think that should be rolled up to commons and potentially rares as well!!

 

Thanks for the note! I actually tried that before posting this and shift-rightclicking does not seem to insta-open votekeys on Java/PC. It just starts the animation. Can anyone else confirm?

 

Not sure if skipping crate animations will have any real impact on the economy of other keys (since you can skip vote crate animations on both servers as Kitty mentioned anyways and the pricing/availability of said items from the vote crates has been the same). However, I will still throw my support for the same mechanic being applied to common keys at the very least.

EDIT: Voted on Skyblock and shift-rightclicked a vote key, gave me cobble so can confirm it works!

I believe only Vote Keys are shift-able to skip although im probably wrong (you can use vote keys on any chest btw) but I think the rest are unskippable (and only warp crate chests)

 

Make sure you are not clicking onto the vote crate itself. Click against a block or into the empty sky.

I am pretty sure they are skipable (voters keys already are) if you use them on the sky it wastes the voters key and it disappears. (i have tried it and i wouldn't lie)

 

Yeah I edited my post a while ago to include that, but the skip only applies to votekeys and not other kinds of keys, which are still unskippable apparently

I'd love to be able to shift open common keys as well since I get so many of them.

 

This is incorrect - I have just tested it with 10 keys and all of them gave me the rewards. Clicking against the sky does NOT waste your keys.

You do have to make sure your inventory is not full and you have space for the reward. If that helps.

while you can skip vote keys, nothing else is skipabble so bump and support

 

I'll vote neutral for now though it would be nice. Keys can be skipped and opened anywhere without the crate animations already for standard keys, and I'd support the same for common. But for rare epic and legendary crates, I'd like to keep the animation because it keeps the suspense of seeing what you could win rolling past, and it reduces the amount of spam in the chat.
