Obsidian....

So a question that has been on my mind for a while now, how do you get obsidian? I've been to the nether thinking I was clever taking a bucket of water..... noob! Then I thought oh ok I'll grab some lava...... noob! But I've not seen any obsidian wherever I have trekked in the nether?
Any help is greatly appreciated

 

Buy enderchests and break them without silktouch. It will give you 8 obsidian.
You get them from this guy at /warp trade.



If you're on Economy, then just buy it from /shop

I don't think the texture pack would have got me to the nether, but that was a creative response i like it!
