Yeah, generating grass out of thin air isn’t gonna help much… if the big grass hoarders were more enticed to exchange goods, that’s what is ‘good’ for an economy. Think it’s time to stop introducing new ways to make money out of thin air and start encouraging more exchange, promoting and supporting markets.
I don't think that is the main reason, because people hoarded grass before 1.19 to. As I said before, imo the fact that more grass is getting deleted then generated which makes grass rarer and rarer is what causes the grass shortage and is what makes the rares prices drop.
There is definitely not less grass being generated than being deleted. Trader does not collect much, if any, grass if Beacon/Netherite/a few small others are being sold, which isn’t even every day. So if you average it out, maybe 800 grass spent each day. Compare that with the 50 Skytitans that log in every day, already collecting 800 grass worth of grass in /kit, alongside all the other low ranks, altogether collected another 1,000 or so, and that doesn’t even factor /daily and /vote rewards. Make market trading more appealing and grass, along with all other goods, will be exchanged.The only ‘grass shortage’ among players occurs because they all dump their grasses into big casino machines, and those owners hoard all the grass! It’s a never ending cycle which needs to be addressed.
This new voting site has an events calendar. Please don't list our drop parties on there or we might get a lot more randoms coming for them. Players that never play SB. The Badge/Grouping system they have is interesting. If we abolish gambling, SB might get this one.
I have no clue how much grass is in circulation, though it's interesting to think about. The only thing I can contribute to the conversation is that in the past six months I have "deleted" about 18k grass, as I've been applying it to the surface of my island (a process that, after placing 21k grass, is now done). About 12k of that came from selling kitties, 2.5k from selling mapart, 2k from the reaction game, and the remainder from miscellaneous sources, mostly selling stuff. I have no sense how much 18k is in the grand scheme of things, but my guess is it's pretty small. Artz has mentioned he has over 100 dubs of grass tucked away in his vault, which would be around 350k+ grass. I've heard similar rumors for Haberson as well. Across the wealthier players, the total grass is likely in the thousands of dubs. Since completing the grass surface, most of my income has gone straight back into the economy, as I've been using it to buy materials for the various parts of my build - stone, cobwebs, vines, blackstone, quartz, etc.. I only have 3 shulkers of grass at the moment and don't expect to hang on to more than 2 or 3 dubs max, if that. I have no interest in DP heads and such, so grass goes a long way to acquiring building materials without having to grind them myself.

"I think the machines are overall just for fun, most cost a single grass block as far as I know" I've provided him a bit more accurate data on the scale of this problem so hopefully a more informed decision can be made to address it.
I have made posts about this before. Atm there is not more getting deleted then generated, but as I said two messages ago, it was like that for months. Scrap & Beacon traders sold out for months. One scrap trader deletes 2000g and one Beacon trader 1500. That’s why I said this update will make the market heal faster. If you want to look at the specific numbers of how many scrap/beacon traders have spawned in that period you can check out mwiemarc‘s trader bot who collects the data.

Maybe it's me who's hording all the grass. Many casino operators like yourself purchase a lot of my ores and I'm just sitting on so many DC's of grass. Good news is that I'm selling it again now for gift cards!
Your ores shops don‘t make thousands of grass per day tho like the wondering trader did for months and as you have said you are buying giftcards with it.
I'd ask to see the maths on that but as you said. I give you credit for spelling maths correctly though.

Yes, I saw that you stated this but you also claimed that this amount was being removed from the server 'daily'.
I did not say ‚daily‘ I said ‚per day‘ because statistically it has been thousands of grass per day for a period of time. Again, check out mwiemarc’s trader bot for the exact information.
I know, I just don’t like to be quoted incorrect. I still didn’t say that the server did remove grass everyday. If you look at the stats for a month then you‘ll see it’s more then a thousand grass per day, which is more then you make with your ores.
