Instead of making the new economy server based on cash, why not make the new server based on Emeralds. Nowadays when we play vanilla skyblock with 1.19. I generally shoot for getting villagers and then trade with them. The main economy typically becomes Emeralds based anyhow. Then we just trade with emeralds to obtain other resources.
When i first learned that grass was currency i was a little skeptic about it but tbh grass as money is one of the big reasons the economy works, people place more grass than it seems and thats one of the main ways grass leaves the economy together with /ads and some items from /warp grass, this is important because money constantly enters the economy trough things like /kits, /vote and /daily and if we dont have enough exits this money will add up creating inflation, and in the long run, will make money worthless. Emeralds could be usefull if they enable villager trading but i dont think it will compare to all the uses grass currently has in skyblock, and villager trading is another mechanic thats up to debate since that could be problematic for the economy too, tbh this are the kind of things i wouldn't mess up with.
well, no we actually use grass as currency. if you're talking about /economy, i dont think they're gonna remove cash for a balance. if you're talking about /survival, then my same point stands. grass is fine as a currency and tbh, all the other ores are used for currency too. diamonds, emeralds (most used), iron, gold (least used). but still, the current currency is fine plus if you wish to mainly use emeralds as currency, then that is your option. i also agree with Kuriboh_kun : )
