Introduction:
Heyo! My name is DrskaM but you can call me Kam. I am 20 years old and I have an undying love for Minecraft. For me Skyblock is Minecraft, and I don’t see myself playing Minecraft without this server, it is the only type of “Minecraft'' I play. I’ve been a silent OG of this server since Classic. In the new age of Skyblock, I collect rares on (skyblock.NET). I also hang out with friends on the server and part-take in community conversations, and all in all, enjoy playing with this loving and friendly community.

Can you speak any additional languages?
I am only fluent in English. However, I took 3 years of Spanish in high school. And I’m capable of having rather simplistic conversations in Spanish. Often asking simple questions and or responding to other players' questions, nothing too extreme though. I’ve also been known to go out of my way to speak to players of the server, of whom English is not their main language.

Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence?
I do. The majority of the software I use on a day-to-day basis is built-in software. Here are some of the programs I use; F-2 in-game for screenshots, NVIDIA Geforce Experience for rapid playback access, Gyazo for image capture as well as video capture, OBS (Open Broadcast Software), snipping tool, and if all else fails iPhone 12 Pro Max camera.

How long can you be active on our platforms every day?
Currently, my time availability is as follows:

When did you first join Skyblock?
I started playing Classic when I was 11 years old in 2012, “shortly” after I stopped playing in 2015 only lurking from time to time. About the time quarantine hit is when I got back into the new age of Skyblock. I say new age because if you remember the server from back in Classic this is basically like a whole new game!

Have you ever been banned on any platform?
Even though I’m not particularly proud of it, I have. Back in 2012, I was banned for advertising the server (skyblock.NET). I believe this was a glitch of sorts but I’m not here to defend myself or beg for forgiveness. Unfortunately, back in 2014 me being the obnoxious 13-year-old I was back then I wasn’t exactly too keen on the rules and decided duping rails would be a great thing to do! Soon after, I was promptly banned by NIH301 for breaking the rules. When I came back to this server that I played in my childhood, I met some new friends and decided to prank one by egging their island, resulting in me receiving a week ban, my appeal was then later accepted.

Do you have any past moderation experience?
I do, I have very minimal staff experience. However, with that being said it doesn’t mean I’m completely oblivious to how staff duties are rolled out. I’ve been a staff member on a few of my friends' servers. The player count on these servers never surpassed 50+ players with the minimum being ten and the maximum being 30 to 40 depending on the day. With this being said I have a complete comprehension of all basic commands and a rather in-depth understanding of LogBlock.

Why do you think you should become a staff member?
I have acquired these appropriate traits for the job;

1. Time Management - I can use my time effectively or productively, especially at work in this case, (moderating).

2. Mature - I have the ability to prioritize others before myself. It has been said, “A mature person is one whose agenda revolves around others, not-self.” In this case, I would be putting the players before myself. Therefore, focusing on the well-being of the community and not my agenda on the server.

3. Reasonable - I have sound judgment; fair and sensible. In simpler terms, if you break the rules you will be punished. However, your punishment will not exceed the rule you broke.

4. Authoritative - I can be trusted as being accurate or true; reliable. I believe authoritative “leader” roles bring a sense of clarity to not only the players but the staff team as a whole.

5. Trustworthy - I can be relied on as honest or truthful.

6. Friendly - I am a kind and pleasant member of the community. Not only do I go out of my way to befriend new players who have just joined the server. But I also do the same to veterans of the community. I will also be able to conduct resolutions of problems players have in a friendly and mature manner.

7. Knowledgeable - I am intelligent and well-informed. I have an in-depth understanding of the rules & code of conduct of the server.

8. Responsible - I am dependable, I keep promises, and honor my commitment to the server. I have accepted the consequences for what I have said and did in the past. With that being said, being responsible also means developing my potential. People who are responsible don't make excuses for their actions or blame others when things go wrong. As stated above I’m not perfect but I have learned and developed from the childish mistakes I’ve made in the past.

9. Active - I take pride in being one of the most active players currently on (skyblock.NET), I am rarely not on and when I am on I’m not AFK.

10. Helpful - I am always giving or ready to give help to new and old players of the server. Going as far as to write out macros for basic and common questions asked by the players.

Do you meet the requirements for staff?
Yes, I believe I do.

 

If they were handing out promotions based on colour and layout, easiest support ever by far the best layout and colour scheme I've seen for an application

Ok, so I wanted to reply to this before you get all the broken record responses of "Hi, great to see you applying, I'm going neutral because you need to work on this, that, yada yada yada etc." I know you're a dedicated skyblock player and you're on daily I'm pretty sure. You don't go on forums a lot but I noticed recently you're on replying to stuff which is good keep that up.

Eco and discord. I don't even really like using the discord now as much but I know it's important when being staff so try actually using it a bunch even just a pop in once a day works to start with. I know you're not an eco player, and that's fine. When I applied I didn't even play survival I only played eco, but I tried my best to come on to survival once a day for like 15-20 mins at least just to try and get some time there because it's great to have a dedicated server but gotta be able to play both of them and understand somewhat if need be.

I don't give neutral ratings out to anyone so I'm not going to support or no support but I know you're fairly dedicated and if you take the time to improve on other platforms like discord and forums and come on eco (of which I will notice because I will be there literally every day) then I'll most likely come back and support

Thank you for this I just want to take a minute and thank you for your constructive feedback. As of a few days ago I’ve decided what I’ve been wanting to do Skyblock going forward so you will see me more active on the various other platforms this network provides. Also, thank you for the compliment about my formatting! I hope to show you the improvement your looking for from me.

Great to see you apply. I’m going to be neutral at the moment. I’ve seen you on the server, you’re helpful, active and are always communicating with others.

My only suggestion is to just be a bit more friendly and a bit more active on discord. It’s good to be active on all platforms just so you can interact with other players!

But you are helpful, I’ve seen many instances where you assist players, forums activity is good and I suggest you be a bit more active on economy if you aren’t already. Of course I’m not always on when you are.

Unfortunately, I’m not a perfect person but I understand when you are a person whom of which the players of the server look to for guidance that can be some what worrying however, I am here to assure you that will never happen. Hopefully I can change your stance through my actions!

Pretty nifty, I've known this man since we were little children, played this server for the first time together back in 2012 as kam has mentioned. I would love to see him on the staff helping out every player, even though I am no longer very active Goodluck kam!

Honestly the nicest person in game i love seeing you around very creative and helpful. So kind to people so active in the chat i always see you help others. Forum activity is great, In game activity is great, Discord activity needs more. But hey you should go to /economy sometimes .

Alrighty, let me just start off by saying I don't believe in "bumping" threads like a staff application. I believe it shows the poster is impatient and too eager for a result. However, I would like to give all the users who have thrown up neutral or even no support to give them a chance to voice their opinion in reply to this post. I think everyone's voice deserves to be heard and if you take the time to let me know then I will take the time to go through your criticism and benefit from it!

 

Drogo is going with no support.
Upon reading through your ban appeal from a few months ago, Drogo sees things being done and said that should never been seen from a staff member. Things that contradict statements made in your application.
Drogo believes actions speak louder than words.

 

Thank you Drogo for taking the time to bless me with your feedback. I appreciate it nonetheless, if you would care to respond with a less vague reply I would love to address your concerns. Why yes I may have acted somewhat childish in the appeal process this was before I started to get involved with the community. Now that is no excuse for my actions and as state in my application I’m not here to get on my knees and beg your for your approval nor support or forgiveness. I’m here because I’m an active, helpful, trustworthy, and friendly member of this community who knows the ins and outs of how things are dealt with on this server cause I’ve experienced it first hand and behind the scenes I’ve helped many staff members with on going investigations of which I hope to see action taken when results are conclusive. And not just brushed off. I also don’t see which parts contradict my statements in my application so if you could please explain that as well I would be happy to discuss with you further.

 

Happy to clarify skaM. Credit to you for mentioning the ban in your application, however, Drogo believes you have played it down a fair bit.
You described your actions that lead to the ban as a prank played on a friend, however the appeal paints a very different picture. If the banning moderator is correct in what they say, your actions against the reporting player included

• egging their island.
• threatened them throughout the day to egg them on a much larger scale.
• threatened to nametag the chickens spawned from 20 DC's of eggs, so mods could not easily remove them.
  
• use of the 'n' word.

These are not the actions of a friendly prank and the fact that the player reported it suggests he didn't think it friendly either.
Now this is only Drogo's opinion but it seems quite nasty. You had nothing to gain from doing this other than perhaps satisfaction that someone else was suffering.

You then claimed innocence as it was not stated specifically in the rules that you could not egg someones island. It was then shown that it does in fact state it quite explicitly in the code of conduct however you were not aware that a code of conduct existed.

At any rate, even if it were not against the rules and a code of conduct did not exist, your actions that lead to the ban and the manner in which you tried to excuse your actions are not the actions of someone who is Mature, Reasonable, Friendly, etc as you have described yourself in your application.

This is the contradiction that Drogo speaks of.

 

Hey Drogo, I appreciate you giving me feedback and your reasoning for the no support. I'd like to provide more insight on the ban itself, yet in no way am I trying to invalidate your opinion or derail this thread.

I take full responsibility for what was said and done on the day of my ban. I said those things and did them and whilst I'm not proud of it I don't want those actions to represent who I am as a person. And if anyone takes the time to get to know me now, they will see that I am not the person portrayed in those actions a few months ago. What was said on that day was not only fullish but it was a complete accident and was not suppose to be said. I brought the real-life we live into a video game forum and for everyone I have offended and betrayed I understand why however, I do want to take this time to apologize to anyone I may have affected with my words or actions. I am sincerely sorry.

As for the ban, the person I was "threatening" with eggs was OmarsCraft a good friend of mine on the server who has even given me his support. The entire thing was just a joke taken too far. Omar is always a troll to me cracking jokes about horse eggs (inside joke) or the time I accidentally voided my rares things like that. So I saw no harm in egging his island besides I wasn't the only one who was doing it at this time. So when I saw Omar's island getting egged every night and he would clean it up sometimes me even helping him in our big group of friends I decided it would be a comical joke to egg it again. I was sorely mistaken on how serious Omar would take action this time.

I believe Omar only reported me because he thought I was one who had egged his island every time but that is not the case. In actuality I think the case is this, you had two friends who like to joke around with one another. One took a joke too far and the other responded in complete defense to the joke leading to the ban which is completely reasonable given the circumstances.

OmarsCraft and I are good as stated above you can see he has given his support on my application leading me to believe that the egging incident is behind us and we can continue on with our friends on this amazing server that not only brings friends closer but can create friendships the two completely different individuals. This server is something truly amazing and close to my heart in regards to online friendships and such.

It should also be noted that at the time of that ban I was returning from a 5-year hiatus from the Skyblock network, therefore, resulting in me not know that the code of conduct even existed which in result gave me the failure to see that I was breaking the rules. This is however not an excuse but simply a misunderstanding as I figured the rules were still the same from when I originally played back in 2012-2015.

Please forgive my absence from this thread the past couple of days I've been dealing with some real-life events that have acquired my full attention. Hey Kam! I fully support your staff application. Since I first met you, you have been nothing but a great and helpful friend these past couple of weeks. Whenever I need help, you always go out of your way to help me, not just me but many people on the server as well. I also agree very much that you are trustworthy, knowledgeable, responsible, friendly, and a very mature person.
