    No support.

First off, you mentioned the fact that this is causing a "gateway to a gambling addiction". That's a big stretch. Children losing some money in a video game is not going to cause them to develop a gambling addiction later in life. If anything, it's going to have the opposite effect.

Second, you mentioned that casinos should have to publicly display their odds or these players will be banned. Real-life casinos don't do this for a reason, because no one would play if they knew the true odds. This is what makes gambling fun for players.

I am willing to agree on a compromise, however. I believe that all casinos on the server should require a sign that explicitly states "play at your own risk". This should be implemented, but the public display of odds is extremely unfair to those who have casinos.

"I don’t see minecraft honestly affecting a persons in real life" this statement is very very incorrect. Especially in lockdown when all young children cannot do anything but stay inside and play games, they're impressionable. Not just young people also, in fact, I don't know why you think that at all.

"Once you add demands and rules like this into the equation, it just complicates the matters and the economy would crumble as casinos are the main way of income for many players"

How would the economy crumble lol? Only the house wins on these games like any, so how would preventing the rich from getting richer make the economy crumble? Yes maybe if they were employing people, but they aren't. It's a money grab scheme. the economy would not crumble, and if you think it would, I suggest you sharpen your economic skills.

"Gambling at a casinos is always a players choice and they do it at their own risks"

Yes obviously this is the case, but some casino's are very misleading, which is my point.

I cannot be bothered to read the rest of your post as there is too much to read and I need to respond to other people's comments.
Better to have some sort of odds than nothing at all.
I disagree, enforcing casino's to publicly display their odds will make a big difference. I also believe it can be enforced relatively easily, simply make the punishment of lying about odds will scare most casino's into displaying them accurately, therefor the few that lie can be punished with relative ease, as there won't be a lot of them.
It doesn't necessarily need to be a staff member who proves them wrong, in fact, maybe casino's should be required to prove that they are fair.
Like in casino's they must be provably fair, which everyone here seems to be ignoring. All casino's legally are required to be provably fair, meaning that they must be able to provide that their casino has prizes which are fair and not advertised unfairly, unlike skyblock where the advertisement of "win head here" which seems promising but could be 1/1,000,000,000,000,000.
It's not really that far of a stretch to relate something a child is exposed to at a young age to experience problems with at an old age. Especially considering "Casino's are the main way to make grass" as stated in another user's reply.
Yes they do, it's called provably fair, I suggest you research into it. It's especially prevalent in online casino's like case opening sites or coinflip and many other things. It must be fair.
Simply saying play at your own risk isn't enough. It's not unfair to display odds, it's unfair to suggest that items are winnable when they could have completely awful odds, border-lining impossible.

    You're suggesting that a 0.00067% chance isn't unreasonable lol.......

    I disagree

I’m not sure how it would make a difference by adding the odds i assume adding them is for people to see their chances specifically kids to have a fair chance I assume but I’m not sure many of them would understand what they mean other than it being some numbers and if they do understand the odds could be wrong as others have said most staff don’t know how they work so it would be hard to prove they aren’t the odds and that they knew they were wrong and half the people that own the casinos don’t know how to check the odds either, I feel that it might turn into a business it’s self because people would offer to figure out the odds for people that don’t know and do it for a price and they them self might not know so it would just be a whole lot of guessing on the odds and at the point of people not knowing how to do it or just putting up fake ones what is the point it would be just as it is now a big guessing game so it would make it basically be unnecessary I agree it would be nice to know what the odds are but there is no way to know for sure that it is true and adding a rule to be banned if you don’t add them or lie has never stopped people from doing something like this, the people who get banned for trading illegal things or buying items with irl money and many other things they were warned there would be punishment and they still do it and there are probably people that do those things and not get caught so it would be hard to get everyone to follow that rule because they might not know how or they just don’t want to do it, it would be hard for staff to act on the odds being wrong if they don’t if it is true or not knowing if it was a mistake so people not knowing or not wanting to would make it hard to tell who have put the real odds or wrong ones so it would just be a guessing game as it is now, I also feel not knowing is half the reason people play casinos. It would be nice to know the odds but I feel it’s unlikely it will happen and people will follow the rules of it

Side note I have no idea if this made sense

its hightly unlikely that they add this its too easy to manupliate it. A better way to insentivise this is to get a group of wealthy players and say that you gonna gamble 1 stack each ( 5 stacks total or whatever) divided amiong casinos that show their odds. Bc its probaly not gonna be regulated and provid insentives change.

Yes, and there are thousands of mobile games out there with loot boxes, gacha systems, booster-packs etc. Every four year old has a phone, and there will always be inevitable exposure to some type of gambling system no matter your age.

Doesn't really sound like a good idea. I'm curious to see how you would apply such algorithm to skyblock's casinos to begin with, but I'm mostly concerned that it might restrain our freedom for creativity, especially for newer players. Are you sure casino scams are as big an issue as you say? I don't often hear much about fortunate winnings on casinos, but an alarming amount of drama often emerges whenever players gain the slightest belief they've been scammed (and some even do it for lolz...).

Instead of setting serious restrictions to casinos, why not guide players with simple casinos and allow for creative and fun machines so that any player can have fun building and running a casino? Some even already do that. I'm convinced that there really are some casino scams out there, but the majority is trying to enjoy the game. And no one's ever gonna own a casino irl anyway :hilarious:

If there is any sort of gambling you need a gambling license.

Again, I never said scam casino's were a big issue, but almost every casino is a rip off casino, where they say advertise like heads are winnable when in no way shape or form they are. Aka why I mentioned provably fair.

Because no guide can be spread quick enough to the many players who join everyday. How the hell does it restrict creativity having public odds? you're just waffling at this point. Own an IRL casino???? What correlation does this have to anything I've said???????????????????

How is it to manipulate? Say, all casino's must show publicly show their odds, how can this be manipulated?
99% of players just see it as an ordinary head, not knowing it's value and 100% do not know that the odds are so heavily against them.

I've got no idea what you're talking about. When did I ever say most people didn't take grass instead of heads?

i can see your view on this however this is minecraft and you are not dealing with real life money. In the end of your statement, you explained if players do not accurately (or precisely) indicate the chance they should be temp banned. Not sure about you and others but some players casinos have been designed by others and often they trust the builder on what the chances are. Receiving a tempban knowing the fact you were not aware of the actual odds seems unjust.

I get what you're saying but that's the same thing as buying something stolen and going "I didn't know it was stolen". If you are running a casino you should know the odds and that the builder made them in good faith and items are winnable, can't just blame someone else.

The suggestion is not to ban casinos but to make a rule to have the odds of the prizes displayed whether in signs or item frames (like for simple casinos).

At least for me, I know the odds but I had a few people come buy and help me tweak the casino due to some issues they had found and changed a few chances. They were upfront about the new changes and I did accept them but then I'm not 100% sure if they are the real chances so...

It is not one else's responsibility other than your own to know the odds of your casino. IMO if you cannot prove that your casino is fair then you should not be running one.

I changed my mind to no support.
You say that this is bad because it puts bad impressions on children - I say it’s great for them! Let them spend all their grass, realize they are only losing, and then learn why you shouldn’t gamble. It’s a good chance for them to learn why not to gamble without wasting real life money and facing real life consequences. I also agree that they don’t need to have the odds. To be honest, all they need to know is that the odds are against them lol. But in the end, I say if you let things play out, you can let people learn to recognize scams and learn the dangers of gambling.

eeehhhhhhhh, meh il go neutral, i think most people would have an IRL addiction to gambling from a redstone machine in blockgame, but maybe a sign saying like "yea mate don't gamble" but as dinglesplat said, they will loose all there grass and realize its bad, butttt if they win, they will gamble more and loose, then realize, so ya
