It's kinda a bit too early Noobcrew to annouce this dropparty, but anyway.. Mark thinks everyone should take a look at this a few minutes before the dropparty begins on /events: A map shows that players show back away from spawn to the borders of the map and stay away from eachother to prevent massive lag & delays for Noobcrew, If Mark is incorrect then PCcoolguy100 should give more details or more information about the lag that will obviously come. This is not just an official recommended guideline to everyone, It's just a suggestion for everyone to try this in order to prevent massive lag, crashes, delays, head glitches, or anything like that. Noobcrew, You should try telling us players and Mark that being nearby the center of the map would create problems/circumstances, Also the center of the map that Mark made is the spawn. Mark put 300 players as a example in the map because we always get around 280-400 players in every skyblock dropparty that Noobcrew does. Hope this works to everyone and willing to participate this event.
I'll make this a bit clearer. Technically, the server world's too small for world/entity/map generation lag to properly be an issue, and server lag really isn't at all a problem. The most laggiest part of the drop party is going to be before the event (when everyone's waiting on the main servers) or when all the players are joining/attempting to join the server (as any server struggles to keep up when large numbers of players start joining at the same time as it attempts to get data from each player). The solution to this is to "trickle" players into the server, by allowing smaller amounts of people to connect at one time (what we saw last dp, slightly unsuccessful as about 40-50 people were not able to join the server at all). The server lag was nowhere near as bad as fps lag (due to the huge amount of players), and the server actually stayed at around 18 tps the entire event. The TPS is not at all a problem, but your graph should indicate FPS instead. TL;DR: TPS isn't much of a problem as your FPS is going to be. Follow this graph if you want your fps to be bearable Unrelated but last drop party there was a certain entity that crashed any player past 1.10 trying to render it. Going through my crash logs revealed that a black shulker box had an illegal/bugged item inside of it, but going to 1.8 resolved this (as the server was on 1.8 after all).
Would it be possible to create a queue system to access the event server so on the day when everyone spams joining at the same time that you are put in a queue which trickles people into the event server rather than the scrum mess that usually causes all the issues and crashes every time we do this xD that way people queue and you open the server slightly earlier and everyone gets in without a fuss.
