My island has a few chests in my shop that offers free items to players )saplings, pickaxes, etc). Unfortunately there are a number of people who take advantage of this and completely clear the free chests, leaving nothing for anyone else. It is likely that many of you have experienced the same. My suggestion is to allow the owner of a shop to set a limit to the number of free items each user can take from an individual free shop over a set period of time in order to prevent abuse of them so that our items can benefit everyone who needs them instead of a single greedy individual. There are few ways this could work. For example, where we specify the quantity of items we want to give away, we could follow it with a hyphen and a number corresponding to the number of times a person can click the sign over the specified period of time. The same could potentially be achieved through some sort of command.
This would a good feature to implement but the current work around I use is this mod by _SaikiK. Only fault (not of it's own) is that it requires you to be online to prevent your tradeshops being abused. Automated Anti Shop Abuse Mod (AASAM) - Prevent players from spamming your free shops | Skyblock Forums
Just create free shops and if you see people spamming it, boot em or guest ban them, of course have signs around the free shops that say "dont abuse" as a warning
Not particularly practical though as it requires me to be active 24/7 since shops don't leave logs for me to see.
I support this idea because i think its good for if you need to give a free item like imagine for example an item that says thank you for shopping here (just an example) people would spam it for advantage as selling or just keeping if its valuable like if your giving food people may see as profit shop in their eyes so they spam so thats why i support this idea
I can support this, it's a great tool to use if you have an island with lots of free shops. However, if it was implemented into the server without having to use external clients that would be great. Support!
Support. Any time someone creates a free shop it's often short lived due to abusers who take advantage. Having free shops for things like cobble or picks etc, is a really great way to get rid of excess items, whilst helping others. Having some kind of cool down or max purchases would really help boost the benefit of these shops.
