I was thinking that because some people give out free items, to ensure that no one takes too many you should be able to see who purchased something from a trade shop. Maybe you could implement this by looking at the chest and doing like /trade history or something like that. A command similar to how /spawner works. I know that 1232012Gamer recently got looted from tons of items when he was being kind enough to hand them out for free but he doesn't know who took all of them. Also if someone had a donation chest and a donation wall they could check who donated and post their name on the wall. Well that's all, lemme know what you think in the comments below. PCcoolguy100 (aka phr33z) says that the logs could also delete after a week from being made to prevent too much archive space.
For his specific issue, I think this suggestion would help best. Though it would be nice to have logs for chests. It's been suggested a few times, and definitely something we're interested in implementing
I put Neutral, I think the idea is good, but I believe that it would be far too much archiving and log space for every single transaction plus creating a new system to do so including potentially altering someone else’s plugin, and the potential to create more problems than it solves. I just personally think it’s unfeasable to stop a rather small issue.
I think this would be a good idea. I know of multiple instances where something like this could’ve been beneficial. Support
It's not a huge priority however it's just something that would enhance game play so much. Tradeshops have always been something that caused many issues from players stealing all the stock (some of which is usually intended to be distributed equally to the community) and it's just useful for players to know who it is so that they can be island banned from their island to prevent them from doing such events. This also helps out staff (as mentioned by Blyx) because there are instances where shops are made, people buy the items, and then the players claim their items went missing... this could be useful in putting a stop to that. As a large shop owner myself, this would be so incredible to have. A lot of CloudCentre's shops operate on a "we-trust-you" basis - proving to be a large pain - where we offer vital items to new players at lower than the average trade price, also known as "non-profit tradeshops". The problem with this is that despite having a billion signs at the entrance to the shop saying using this inappropriately will lead to island bans, people just don't care and it would be good to actually be able to enforce that rule. Either they're smart to know I can't actually tell who's spamming my shops, or they don't read the signs. Either way, it's useful. You have my support. Good luck!
Support. I also would like the timed tradeshops idea implemented too (as redstonetrails mentioned). Thus, it would prevent players from abusing free items tradeshops and as well as let you know who was abusing or trying to abuse your tradeshops and as Blyx said, it'll really help the staff members
Bump! This is extremely useful for big shop owners, understanding their demographic and knowing how a sale is going and seeing if a previous buyer still needed more of a certain item.
