Support. Moderator profiles should be available to the public in times of need, in case the player needs a quick way to get a mod's attention.

Honestly there's no reason to have a privated profile in the first place, if your trying to prevent spam messages from other users that do not like you I understand, but for a moderator their profile should be public for other players to use as a resource or at least see.

Support, all users should be able to post messages on a mod's profile in case they have a problem or need to ask them a question. For example, Myrmwife 's profile is privated, which means that I can't simply ask them a question or anything like that.

Support as a lot of players immediately look for the nearest moderator in times of need. Coming across with with a private profile is a little discouraging in the sense of looking for help

    Neutral,

Pretty sure Cyk753 and Myrmwife will have nothing to put on their profiles though, I don't know if this should be added.

Doesn't matter. They should at least have their profile available for people if someone really needs them.
    Couldn't agree more.

Its Needed Reasons are stated above and if Cyk753 is moving up in the ranks of staff they cannot be super mod with a private profile its just absurd! like what if most staff are offline and some on vacation and you only have one mod browsing the forums thats in game sure you can message them on discord but what if they didnt see that thing in the corner! welp oops looks like you cannot contacct them because lookie there its a private profile guess the bots will spam us now oh boi oh boi!

    No support.

A while back this issue came up where my profile was locked for a while because of people coming on my profile to attack me, to the point it was constant and making it difficult. Staff are required to have a thick skin, however the amount of toxicity some have to deal with is beyond what anyone should need to face.
Myrmwife was constantly harassed by players and locked her profile to prevent it from escalating.

Staff are contactable in several other places besides their profile: discord, server and forums private message. If someone needs help they will find a mod one way or another. It isn't going to affect much if one or two staff have their profiles locked because there are many other staff and if there is an emergency people don't often jump on the forums first.

Staff deserve to have the same level of privacy as players and if private profiles was a big deal then when cyk was helper and in 2015 when Myrmwife profile was private, things would have fallen apart then. But all bots get dealt with, cases get handled, we get contacted and its fine.

People should give us a reason to not need to deny access to our profiles first before i'd ever think that this idea is good.

Neutral, I agree with Krissy about some people attacking the staff members for example for banning them.

I think the quickest way to get any staff's attention is via a private message (forums, discord, in game etc.). If you had a bigger question/problem it's also easier to post a thread where staff and playere can respond to it rather than writing a message on all staff's wall. It's also easier to deal with issues and questions in pm as you can send files and as a private conversation. There's really nothing gained with or without access to the wall imo. Walls aren't created as a place to specifically ask questions or give answers.

Ngl I rarely check my wall unless I get that thing in the corner I find notifications for chat messages also very prominent. :D

Neutral. A lot of staff keep thier profiles open so I dont see what's the issue here. As Krissy stated you can always reach to them on discord, PM or in game.

If you really want to have the position of a mod you should be able to handle that I guess and if you can't then don't apply? Either all requirements or none. And even if a certain player is passing the border of "acceptable" hate you can warn/ban etc. them so I dont think this is a valid point. Like you guys signed up for that and really wanted it.
Additionally some people don't use discord or new players may not know how to private message.

I think that moderators should have an open profile or the option that you can start a conversation with them.

Too Long, Didn't Read: My profile page is not relevant to your in game experience nor your messaging abilities on forums.

I hardly ever check my profile page. I have hardly ever posted to my own profile page. My "About" section is blank. I am not in the habit of putting my private thoughts out in the world. I am not in the habit of wanting/needing commentary. I just do not use my profile page.

My profile was private even before I became moderator. I swear it was an option in settings years ago around when I made it. I didn't want anyone to comment on my page. I originally made my account so that I could report being griefed. I am not actually sure what I did back then beacause the only people who could leave posts on my profile page were mods.

Before I was mod, I really did not use my forums account to leave comments to other player's profiles as well. I thought it was way more important to interact in the help section, reports sections, suggestions sections, etc. I never even put a post in the introductions section. My intentions were always more business oriented, to help out people and to help out the server.

Now that I am a moderator, I do not see a reason why profile page privacy would stop people from contacting me about a server related issue. I think that the profile page is more for private use than for an official channel of communication to seek help. Even when I am in game, if someone wants to talk to me about what happened in game, and if it was something I did not witness, I ask people to create a report with screenshots on forums because that is the most appropriate place to log them.

Here is how you can contact me if you need something server related:

-You can contact me in game.
-You can contact me over discord while I am in game
-You can leave me a message on discord while I am not in game if it's just a question rather than something that needs a warn/mute/ban
-If you do not have access to discord, you can start a conversation with me from the forums.
-You can tag my name in post on any thread.

All these options above will give me a notification so that I can reply if it is really warranted.

I do not believe that whatever you want to ask is something only I can answer. We have a great staff team!

If it concerns something that is server rule breaking, The best place is to create a report on forums. I believe this is the most official place to submit a report. I believe people who are accused of wrong doing have a right to know why. I believe in public (forums) communication for reporting instead of reporting something to me in private (discord). If I am not available to help you out, if you leave a report on forums, another mod will definitely handle it.

blocking a player isn't really going to help the situation. Mods have to keep their profiles open no matter who. If one mod is having toxicity issues with another player, they need to solve it on their own really. It just makes the problem more worse between a mod and a player as it gives a bad image towards either both the player or the mod or one of them. Even if they have toxic issues with a player, they should always keep their profile unblocked in case they need help or decide to resolve it

Can you say that in less words?

    Neutral,
I kind of would not mind if this was added mainly because I am not a mod and in my case I don’t feel the need to have a private profile.

I do not think you read my response. I am against having mod profiles be forced from private to public because there are so many others ways to communicate besides leaving a post on a wall.
