I've half way through my semester of Earth Sciences and can confirm that the earth is flat. Winds, ship, and ocean currents operate by teleporting from the east most side of the flat, disk-like, earth to the west most side and vise versa. After all, how else would Australians stay on the ground?? If the earth was a sphere we would have fallen into the sun by now.
Pretty obvious when you actually think about it.

A toroidal planet is theoretically “stable” ie laws of gravity say that if it exists it would mostly hold form. At least for a little while.
    So physically possible.
It’s mathematically improbable because the thing that would have to happen perfectly for that to even occur..
Given that, and the fact we have never seen a non simulation example, it statistically impossible.

Only thing I can think of is a massive rocky planet getting nailed head on by something dense and fast enough to punch directly through. Even that probably wouldn’t work because the impact would obliterate it.

That makes no sense. Australians stay on the ground due to gravity forcing them to stay down. Theres a magnetic field in the solar system forcing us all down. Your idea is fine but you logic makes ZERO Sense. How would we have all fallen into the sun. Once again this makes no sense. Regardless if were assuming theres ZERO gravity and stuff its highly unlikely we would travel 92.96 million miles DIRECTLY in the direction of the sun.

Once again not ruling out the idea, but if your gonna support it at least back it up with some valid reasons that make some sense. Like come on falling of the earth? We can scientifically prove that cant happen. Explain why we come down after we jump

if gravity forces us down, how come we can jump???
    why can we balance??
maybe because we're on a FLAT surface

What happens as soon as we reach the peak of out jump?? We come down?

What does balance have to do with gravity??

vCommand this is a joke thread fam, chill.

And you are totally wrong about how gravity works. The magnetic feild doesn’t force us down, it protects us from solar radiation. The molten iron core of the planet spins rapidly producing the field. I will not be chill in the name of bill nye.

Gravity in essentially a force that pulls everything toward it. The more massive an object the more it pulls.
Think of a trampoline, pretend this is a 2 d example of the fabric of space.
The earth is a bowling ball on that trampoline. This creates a dent, and anything in that dent will roll towards the earth. If it’s moving fast enough, it will miss the earth and start to “orbit” if it’s going the right speed.
The same is true with the sun, except it’s a wrecking ball.
Those dents slowly smooth out the farther they are from the center, getting closer to the original level of the trampoline.
This represents a bodies gravity well, or where that bodies gravity really matters.
The moon stays in the earths orbit because the earths gravity well is deep enough to prevent the sun taking it. It’s not too deep as to pull the moon directly in (at least at the moons current speed) and not too shallow as to let it fly off.
That’s the general idea of gravity. Things on earth are simply not moving fast enough tangent to the earth to begin orbiting at this low altitude. That’s why rockets don’t just fly straight up. They have to go up and sideways in order to get out of the denser atmosphere and to get moving fast enough to “miss” the planet.
If they want to go to mars or something, a craft would have to move even faster, in order to shoot out of the gravity well. They then enter a solar orbit, an orbit that would put them on a course to enter the gravity well of the target body. Upon arrival that craft would need to slow down and cancel the velocity from escaping earth, in order to not fly out of the gravity well. If it didn’t, it would end up shooting out of the well, and depending on how close and fast it was going, in a slightly different direction. This is because the gravity of the other planet would have curved it slightly, as the well of that planet is circular.

Now if said craft wanted to land, it would have to cancel it’s orbital velocity, or the speed at which it kept missing the planet. To do this it would point retrograde, opposite the direct it was traveling, and fire it’s boosters until it’s orbit intersected with the planet or moon. It would wait and then fire engines again to stop it from smashing into the terrain below.

Assuming ,that is, NASA didn’t forget to convert their measurements.

    WOOOOO SCIENCE!
Hopefully you guys aren’t too confused.

As for jumping, you are essentially a small rocket. Only issue is you have a very limited amount of force and only for a breif instant. This causes you to move upwards until gravity pulls you back with the help of air friction, as your velocity is canceled out. This is why space craft have to be so high up and so fast to avoid the thick lower atmosphere slowing them down, and gravity pulling back in. Thing is though, gravity is always pulling them back, so they have to be moving so fast that the craft speeds misses the planet. They feel weightless because they are essentially in free fall around the planet.

On another note, if you jumped in space, say you pushed off the ISS, you would add or remove velocity from your orbit depending on which way you were pointing, and the amount of force. With no air friction to slow you down, you would stay in this orbit. This would also shift the station a bit, because of Newton’s laws of motion. It wouldn’t be much since you are so tiny compared to the mass of the ISS but it would still be noticeable.

as far as i'm concerned, all this quote on quote "knowledge" that u have about "gravity" is completely false. gravity doesn't exist, the government lied to all of you. now, let's turn ISIS to waswas

So if the earth is flat.... Is the sun, the stars and every other planets flat too???

Um... as I said, I'm taking Earth Science. There's no plausible way I could think the earth is flat. I didn't realise there was a plausible way others could too--hence the intense sarcasm. The Coriolis effect, gravity, the latitudes, the seasons, weather, overall climate, layers of the earth and the fact that I've flown over the pacific ocean without falling into the void--There's not even the smallest chance in hell that the earth is flat. Sure people might have simulated it for other planets, but our earth? No. Not even a little bit.

i strongly disagree. "science" dont you mean the government has been brainwashing minds into thinking that the earth is a sphere, when that's simply not the case. there is no chance that we're on a globe! we'd fall off. try again.
