Stop. If I could just change your mind, Billions of animals would be saved this year. Have you ever thought about what you eat, or where it came from? Animals used for food are treated in such a horrible way. As babies, the animals are separated from their mothers, crammed in pens with many others, are given unnatural drugs in order to increase growth, never able to feel the sun on their back, or do anything that is natural and important to them. They are kept in warehouses until they are packed into large trucks headed for the slaughterhouse, where they will have bolts jammed into their head, be electrocuted, and be hung by their feet whilst their throat is sliced open by a 12-inch knife. Many die on the way, cows that live are then strapped down and have a bolt rammed into their head. They are then tied down by their legs... their throats are cut, then they are skinned. Some are still conscious during the WHOLE process. Some chickens are still alive as they are placed into boiling water for defeathering. They are killed piece by piece. Millions of animals are killed without any mercy every day: 100,000 cows per day, 23.383 million chickens per day, and 40,000 pigs per day. This is not the life that animals should have. Some say "Well I didn't kill it, it was already dead and I just ate it." When you buy animal products, you're paying people to kill and abuse it for you. God made animals for a reason. No one needs meat to live. It is a proven fact that vegetarians/vegans are healthier than those who do consume meat. There are tons of ways to eat healthily, and even more important, to eat cruelty-free. You can help. Do you care? Make a difference. I really hope you guys take this in and you join the fight to stop animal cruelty.

I understand that's your view, and that's fine.

However:

What you're talking about here is factory farming, the way it is worded suggests that all animals for food are treated in exactly the same way. That is not the case.

There is a difference between factory farming and free range. One, like you said puts the animals in tight enclosed spaces along with the other details mentioned above.
The other - free range - allows the animal the opportunity for a natural life roaming free with the only restriction being the fence on the field. Chickens will still lay eggs, cows still milked for dairy products. The difference is they're not exploited before they're turned into meat, and the products which result from this are more expensive but better quality.

The problem lies with what you want/ are able to pay for the food that you eat. Factory farmed goods are cheaper. Some people prefer that, as it keeps costs down, especially if their income isn't great in the first place.

Animal raising is a large part of some farmer's trade and income, if done properly, I see no reason to stop it, and disadvantage the farmer because of misconceptions about how livestock for meat are treated.

Ultimately, what I'm trying to say, is that it's up to individuals on what they want to eat. Personally, I'm a fan of free range and am happy with that.

 

Well uh I've seen some videos about that but its mostly horrible how they are tortured alive. Myself I'm not much of a vegetarian. Though in my religion its allowed to slaughter specific animals for food. And theres only one way is by cutting their neck at once so they cant be tortured then killed like these people are doing.

 

Multiple studies have been done on "free-range" farms. Most of the results show that farms that claim that they are free-range arent always free-range. For example, Nellies Free-Range Eggs, one of the largest egg producers in America. PETA went into one of Nellie's farms and found that the chickens weren't in a free-range position. The labels do not matter, nor are they always true.

No animal should ever be killed just to suit humans needs. Why don't we just start killing humans and feeding them to lions, that's the same exact thing we're doing to them. How would you feel to be tied up, electrocuted with a prod, be separated from your family, and have a bolt rammed into your head?

What about the pathetic Chinese Angora rabbit farms? Has anyone here read about those? Sure, rabbits may be trimmed with clippers which are humane, but As rabbits age they also yield less fur, meaning that the owner must either kill them or also run an angora retirement home. I do intend to keep enjoying my free range eggs, thank you. Personally, as a UK resident I've never heard of the company 'Nellie's Eggs', nor have I ever purchased them. You have provided one example of one company not living up to free-range, with the proof coming from Facebook - something we all know is a very reliable source of information.

I have nothing more to say on this issue, as I don't wish to defame companies on a skyblock forum for a minecraft server.

I'm glad our opinions differ on this matter, and I hope you realise I'm not trying to attack you for believing something different to myself. I hope you enjoy eating what you wish to eat.

I don’t think going vegan or vegetarian would be the best option for everyone, for some people, going vegan or vegetarian can be dangerous in some ways. A person like me, who has diabetes, cannot limit themselves to any food, because when they have a hypo (sugar levels in your blood go down or up, usual levels range from 4.5-7.5) you need to have food with sugar in it to boost it. Many things I consume to do this, are digestive biscuits and sweets. Many sweets have pig gelatine in and itwould be really hard to get the correct things. Also honey is a very common thing too. Anyway, my mum doesn’t get meat from places like Sainsbury’s, she gets it from butchers purely for the fact that the meat is leaner, and the animals are treated much better than some supermarkets. We’re above animals in the food chain and unfortunately that’s how the world works, because around 1/7 of the world’s population don’t eat meat, it’s not going to stop people from killing animals for the rest.

Wendy's Frosty for 99 cents and Subway's sub are the real deal.

If you wanted fast food, then In-N-Out is the way to go. They don't use methods done by other fast food corporations. They make their patties at the store, and make their fries in front of you. Legit all of the ingredients are made fresh to order.

 

I don't get the whole "free range" thing because you're still just raising them to kill them. Tbh I think they do it because it's profitable to say it lol

Also, what's wrong with genetic modifications? Just think of how many chicken wings it takes to constitute a meal. That ratio is pretty large. If we had a single chicken that had like 10 wings on it you'd have to kill 5 times fewer chickens. Of course companies may take advantage of this to just sell more, but eventually supply will greatly outweigh demand and I think it'll have a positive effect in the end. Not sure why everyone's afraid of it.

But in all seriousness, these animals's deaths are just the food chain in work. Sure, we slaughter innocent animals in the most despicable ways for food, but so does every other predator in nature. It's not like when a lion bites it's prey it will have an instant, painless death. That animal will suffer and bleed before eaten. And the lion can't just start eating grass instead of meat, it's digestive system can't handle it. Sure, we can sustain a vegan diet without barfing everything, but if we stop killing these animals, they will die, or even become extinct, since if we let them live, they will reproduce, the excessive population will eventually eat all the food they can, the food will become scarce, and they starve. That's why we are suffering an overpopulation crisis, we have no natural predators, so we are making food more and more scarce. In the long run, we are helping prevent the overpopulation of these animals. Sacrifices must be made.
