I changed my username now i can't unlock my island or trust people

When I first created my island my username was: Malachi577
But now my username is: DerpySquidward

 

Can you try changing your username back to Malachi577? And see if that works?

 

I dont want to have to wait 30 day to change it back to DerpySquidward

When did you make your island?

 

I don't exactly remember when but i think it was about 1-2 years ago

So when you type /home, you go to your island, and you can still edit it, but for some reason, you're not the leader anymore? Maybe see if another person in your coop has had the leadership transferred to them for some reason by getting them to try a coop command.

 

I made my island about 1-2 years ago i think that is why i cant do it

Ages ago when name changes came out, if you changed your name when you were on an island, it would delete your island.
It might still be relevant now.

 

I changed my name when it first came out but it didnt delete it, it just gave the ownership of the island to my old username

the last i joined before i had this issue was the day before the update that lets you change your username but i have just ignored it until today

 

Yeah, that’s what it should do.
This is the reason why this is happening. There’s nothing we can do about it since the bug is already patched. The only way we can get ownership transferred back to you is from cyp. I recommend messaging him on discord.
