mod reviews

ok, so first off please don't hate on me for this. This is just a thought I had. Disclaimer: I am not Myrmidous . Just thought I would create this discussion to see what people think. At this point in time I somewhat doubt that everyone would want this.

This idea I have was inspired by myrmidous's mod application reviews, in which he does professional and in-depth reviews on mod applicants and applications. I love the idea of reviewing others as a means of creating transparency. On my realm/discord server I do weekly review of my staff team to give them an idea of how they are doing as moderators. My reviews include input from other members of my server. Now that my backstory is complete, allow me to introduce my idea.

Reviewing moderators. I noted some staff appreciate feedback from members of this wonderful and diverse community. I've also had a chance to communicate with other members on here about their thoughts and opinions regarding different staff members. Like myrmidous' thread, I would review moderators on my opinions under the following circumstances:

• I am not allowed to be disrespectful or degrade the staff
• The mod asks to be reviewed.

These are just my thoughts. I know considering my history in the past that I didn't exactly behave the best. But I am familiar with being in authority, I am educated on management, and I am a moderator. So long as I have this up I won't be allowed to apply for moderator. My reviews will be in-depth, and may take time from when the mod initially asks. I will closely monitor them (but not too close), observe how they do their job and deal with different situations. I will survey members of the community to gather their opinions. From their opinions, I will consider their point of view and suggest how the moderator might improve.

Why am I doing this? Members of the skyblock community think we have a really crappy staff team. I recently did a private review of a moderator, and realized that it wasn't that they were bad, but rather they weren't coming off the right way. I feel that the moderators are being misunderstood, and I would like an opportunity to review and offer tips to them on how to improve. I'm not sure when I will create this yet, but I think I plan on implementing it in the future.

 

This sounds like a really good idea. With the staff feedback threads going around, it would be nice for them to have an in-depth review of how they are doing as a moderator.

 

It really would be a nice idea, but it's also nice that they're able to request it on their own time.

 

I am also hoping that it can help eliminate all these staff feedback threads.

Your opinion is part of why I want to do this. I think with your opinions of the mods, that I would want to ask you. There has to be a reason you find them terrible. That is a lot of why I am making this thread.

 

Is your realm for friends only or is it like a smaller server thing?

 

yea I like the idea, we can roast freely..

 

The only people I invite to my realms are credible people. I won't invite people whom I think will run against the rules and try upsetting others. It's for people whom I think deserve to join. (idk if I can invite more people yet or not, still unsure about that).

The thread is not to roast, but rather to be a help.

 

If Stray allows you to, definitely consider going. I had a hell of a fun time playing there. Don't have much time anymore.

it's for reviewing the staff team. Not to roast them. I don't roast my staff team when I review them every week. I'm not going to do that here. I'm just going to be honest with them.

I will be honest. The reason that I ask the mods to give consent, is because I'm going to be completely honest with them. So if any roasting happens, it's just going to be their own fault. So if they are willing to ask my honest opinion, some of the mods *cough* *cough* will have to be willing to accept the truth. A question they should ask is whether they value honesty, or flattery more.

 

The consent part is the best part in my opinion.

Dough lacks the ability handle feedback and deletes and edits anything he doesn't like. This thread will fail when half the staff team have the maturity of a toddler.
