Hey skyblockers, so after nearly 3 months of moderating the what's soon to be called 'Classic Skyblock' server, I'm asking for some feedback on how I'm doing.

Maybe do two stars and a wish? (two good and one bad).

Wow that is some really helpful feedback. Sometimes when Laini is online I do mess about because everyone needs a break from their job, but I can't argue with you! Thank you once again for this constructive feedback.

+ Very active.
- Sometimes you can come across the wrong way, perhaps as insensitive or rude. It gave me the wrong impression of you at first (I thought you were really mean). For instance, somewhere in the help forums, you said something along the lines of "that's your problem" to someone having donation issues (I forget where and in what exact context, I just remember being bothered by it) and I thought that the comment/how you said it was really uncalled for. So, my feedback is to be mindful of what you say and how you say it. To a guy already stressed out and experiencing disappointment over a donation issue, getting a cold comment from a staff member can be especially disheartening. I understand that at the end of the day, whatever happened may have been his issue, but there should've been a better way to say it.
+ When I looked into you a bit more, I realized that you're pretty friendly and mature, so that's a plus.

 

I could say exactly the same thing. When I'm playing with you, there's a lot more banter, although I still do help out and do what I should be doing.

- after you got mod you started being really mean towards the people you were friends with before your promotion. (Not only me) The power made you crazy like that robot in portal 2!! You always buried your mistakes under the lie "Im doing my job" You lurk in social spy. Like ALWAYS. You never apologized for any mistakes youve done without anyone forcing you to apologize. You defend people who are wrong and when someone says the truth you just delete the messages with your super magic powers. I guess you already knew all this.
+ you are a good person but just as a person, as a mod ur pretty bad ngl

Thanks for your feedback and I respect that. But I do have a reason behind, I got really annoyed that I was called a 'cookieh' because I'm not and yeah, but now I'm joining in with it so I don't know whether I improved or not. Thank you for your constructive and honest feedback.

 

+ You're active. You are one of the moderators that I see online regularly. This is most likely because you're a new moderator, and they're often the most active, but I sincerely hope that you keep up the good work.
+ You're friendly--at least from my perspective. Even when I messaged you shortly after your promotion, you not knowing me in the slightest, you humoured my questions and conversation. You didn't palm me off as the stranger I was, but treated me like a friend. There need to be as many moderators who are polite and friendly to people they don't necessarily know as possible, so I'm glad you're one of them.
- You sometimes come across as naïve and slightly inhuman. Being a moderator doesn't mean you're not a player like the rest of us. You're free to address the members of the public like a normal person, someone who is just like them, rather than a moderator or representative of the Staff Team. You are a normal person, just able to help people more than others.

 

I never accused you of being cookieh. I asked for an explanation for the evidence but you ignored me and other kids. Anyway I dont care if you are/were cookieh, I say it as a joke.

 

I just like to moderate, I'm turning 3 months soon! I don't think I'll ever get bored of it haha!

Yeah I find this one hard. Some people say this and some people say I can be immature at times, I don't know which I am!

 

You can be both. Anyone, mature or not, can be overly serious and distant. If you look at moderating like being a teacher, the ones that are distant, patronising and treat you like only a student are often the least mature ones: the ones that need to assert their position in order to feel validated. The ones that treat the students as equals and consider what they have to say as valuable advice are the ones that have matured past the immature compulsion to focus on titles and positions above the people we all are underneath.
