First of all, I want to admit that this thread will seem redundant, repetitive, and old. I'm sure there are several threads similar to this, however I feel as though this should be addressed. I recently rejoined Skyblock again. All I do on there anymore is help out the community and build for others. As I am attentive to what's going on with the community, I've seen what others think of our staff team. We've seen threads against mods, and some for mods. But from what I have gathered, the most common thing that we do is slander the mods. Hey you did that too! yes, I did. I will not deny, however I do regret doing that, I set a bad example. I've also changed since then, but this thread isn't about me so time to set the focus back to the purpose of this thread. As part of the Skyblock community, we are given opportunity to give tips and advice to our staff team, and even suggestions. However we shouldn't be degrading our mods, if you do, you can expect to get in trouble for it. We naturally feel obligated to complain about what a bad job we think they are doing. We complain about unfair bans, mods being biased (which I will not deny), and complain that they just do a bad job in general. I've seen people say our staff team is all bad and horrible. Here are some tips first: If you think a ban is unfair, be professional and appeal. Don't whine fuss or complain about how unfair it is, that won't get you anywhere. A fair amount of bans that the mods give out are well-deserved, so keep that in mind. If you think a mod is being biased, well, avoid complaining about it as much as possible. The best thing you can do is gather evidence that the mod is being biased, and report it. If you think they are doing a bad job in general then SUCK IT UP and deal with it. You aren't the one in charge of the staff team. The staff team are the ones who protect you, it's not good to bite the hand that feeds you. Is our staff team really all that bad? If you see a spot on a white garment, what will you notice first? Most people would naturally notice the blemish first. This is how we also look at the staff team. If just one mod is doing bad, we exaggerate it and say the whole staff team is doing bad. Here is the difference though, The staff team isn't a white garment; You can't hold one mod accountable for something another mod did. I've seen people say that mods should be considerate, but the question you should ask yourself first is: Am I being considerate? Finally, in the end, we should realize that nobody is perfect. We are all human, so we are naturally going to have our flaws and mistakes. Unfortunately it seems that once a player becomes a mod, suddenly some people don't view that player as human anymore. Yeah, they are mods and have to keep the server safe, but that doesn't mean they are a lifeless robot. As much as they should be unbiased, sometimes emotions take a little control. They have feelings too. Speaking of feelings, put yourself in the shoes of a mod. You have just been given the great duty of keeping Skyblock safe. Each day you watch out for troublemakers and problems. You deal out punishments as fairly as you believe is deserved. Sometimes you really don't want to have to punish someone, but to be unbiased and fair you must. When you come on the server, individuals complain that you are doing a bad job, and you suck at your job. How do you feel about that? Then you punish them for staff disrespect. You get on forums, and see threads and posts of people complaining about mods and you. People saying you are unfair and did your job wrong. How do you feel about that? I think we should be more considerate of the staff team than we are. This ends my rant.
The staff team makes the server what it is. If there was no staff, the amount of bad stuff happening every day would never be properly sorted. Moderators are people and deserve to be treated with as much respect that you would want to be treated with yourself. I'm glad to see you've started to change your mind, Stray.
I've had a change of mind over my break. During my break I officially started up my own realm and discord server. I've had a chance to gain some moderator experience. I'm now much more understanding of what mods go through. I've had very very tough times. A player complained to me about an unfair punishment, I've had to ban one of my friends temporarily, and much more. Moderating isn't an easy job.
It really isn't and I know that for a fact. Challenges can be hard, but the build up of experience will be good in the long run. once again welcome back!
I've already stopped giving a crap about the negativity against staff. I do the role I wanted to do and if people don't like that, tough. I really don't pay attention to criticism that isn't constructive anyway, as do the rest of the team. Complaining threads are mostly by people trying too hard to fit into an online community. Its old now. This isn't 2015, move on lol.
I'm happy to hear that krissy. You've also been mod long enough that you understand that you guys do a fine job. keep it up
That's so true. But I only got 1 note about the staff team and i cant judge them on that is in game activity. I understood some of them are busy, on vacation, no internet whatever the excuses. Thanks for all the mods for working their sweet butts off for us to make the server a better place 333333
I get you guys dislike each other but theres no reason to be rude. Take it to private if you feel you need to battle it out, otherwise, no flame. Thanks.
true sigh. same old story. look, from what ive seen in your attitude towards me, you havent changed one bit. if youre trying well thats cool and all but this isnt girl guides, you dont get any points for effort. youre still rude, annoying and a pain. and going around continuously saying "oh look at me ive matured look ive changed" hm. disagree. if you think that someone isnt doing the best they could be doing, why should you sit around and "suck it up". if you go through life just accepting the bad things without doing anything to change them, nothings ever gonna improve lmao. im not saying we should be b****y about it, but we should be free to tell them we think they could be doing better if we think that. lmaoooooo. this is funny considering you were the one who literally 2 days ago was on net complaining and complaining and complaining about how talia was 'biased' and you were so fed up with it.
I believe krissy has stated above that we shouldn't be rude. Like her, I would rather not to have flame wars and fights. I wish you would put in your thoughts regarding the post itself, rather than me. As I stated in the post, the thread isn't about me. So I would prefer that you consider the post, rather than the person who wrote it. Thank you ma'm.
I'm going to be honest right here, I don't know. However I do agree that it's not fair to target the team as a whole just because you've got beef with only one staff member. Staff reports aren't even considered, so why bother? amy benji nyxa TheEpicWotsit lmao
u need to learn the difference between being rude and disagreeing with what you said. i was saying my opinion lmao xdrawr????
True about the staff reports part. I doubt that they are considered unless there is some very hard evidence proving that there is something wrong with that moderator. Another wasted comment, more wasted time. Why did you bother commenting on something you find to be a waste of time? If you don't have anything related to the thread to say, then don't say it.
I mean I had a valid staff report on someone for an inappropriate nickname, which somehow got passed off as "not being a real word", when it was a clear typo of a term used for blood clots swelling in the rectum, which isn't appropriate. Yet it's perfectly acceptable because it's a "medical term". benji and TheEpicWotsit both know what I mean and the three of us are sick of it.
I just don't understand how at the start of your thread you clearly stated that "First of all, I want to admit that this thread will seem redundant, repetitive, and old. I'm sure there are several threads similar to this, however I feel as though this should be addressed." You already knew that it would be a waste of time to make a thread when it's already been done. I don't understand the point you're trying to get across that we don't know already?
I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. That sentence did not imply that I thought it was a waste of time. It was merely to state that it may seem that way. It isn't necessarily. When you read my posts, it's best that you take time to read and take in what I am saying. I choose my words very precisely. The majority of the words I chose are there for a purpose.
Alright guys. If you see this as a waste of time, don't b**** about it. If you feel it's a waste of time, just don't read the thread or comment on it. Again, with what Krissy said earlier.
I'm entitled to my own opinion and that is that these threads are spammy, uninformative and a complete waste of time. (---:
I have one comment for a particular part of what you said: I believe you are exaggerating. The whole server does not consider my thread a waste of time. Liani, bert, and others have considered it thoughtful and helpful. One must be careful of the words they choose. true, you are entitled to your own opinion. If you opinion is: "these threads are spammy, uninformative and a complete waste of time." Then why do you waste your time looking at them and commenting on them?
