IF YOU'RE NOT SURE, AND IF YOU'RE NOT A MODERATOR, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS THREAD. FR. So, I'm pretty sure it used to be a rule that you cannot trade money for in-game items unless through buycraft. I can't find it in the rules anymore, so has the rule been redacted? A few follow-up questions also, are the following legal: - Trading Skyblock items for other game items (eg. TF2 keys) - Trading Skyblock items for IRL services (art, plushies, hugs) - Trading money for non-skyblock items, but letting people know/creating a shop through skyblock (eg. money for TF2 keys, money for art) - If this is illegal, can external businesses that a player may run be talked about on Skyblock, or would that count as advertisement of the business? Alright, that's all. Thank you amigos
No, you're not allowed to trade money for in-game items or in-game items for game items or IRL services. I don't think we've discussed advertising your shops though skyblock as punishable, but I wouldn't advise it. As for talking about their business, I don't see why not. This is what I stated and in the most recent thread about your question located here.
Ah yes, I forgot about that thread. Art shops (for icons, general art, banners etc) have been fairly common on Skyblock. They've sometimes taken the form of "if someone can make me a great banner, I'll give them 3 diamonds". Are these activities legal based on what you said here:
I know a few people that used to draw for people in exchange for diamonds, I've never seen anyone be punished for it though.
The rule isn't "not related to skyblock". The rule is centered around respecting the EULA of other services by not allowing trade of other currencies, gift cards, capes, skins and real money. There is also the logical rule of not allowing people to use skyblock currency to donate to any server other than crew ones. Mineverse isn't "skyblock" related but we can still use in game items to pay for a mineverse rank. A person's artwork is not covered by any EULA and doesn't harm the server so trading in game items for artwork is legal. Kerahna is a good example who opened her art shop with real life commissions and in game item payments. It has always been allowed.
Alright, I think this question has been sufficiently answered. Perhaps something could be added to the illegal trades thread to clear this up, but that's up to you guys. Thanks ^-^
