This wouldn't work as the mod who bans usually witnessed or knew the most about the situation.

Perhaps if someone feels that the mod is biased, they could ask another mod to take over.

That's why they should run it through with another moderator

Well, this happened in my day...? Dunno if it still does, but if the banner had a personal relation to the banee, they were not allowed to handle the appeal and had to give it over to another mod. This almost always happened. So, if it doesn't happen anymore, support, and if it does still happen, then this isn't useful I guess...

The banning moderator has all the information on the banned player. Handing over an appeal is a pain in the a**. It would make appeals take even longer to be resolved. Sure, if the mod has a past with the player they should avoid their appeal, but not for all appeals.

That is how it should be. But unfortunately some mods don't do that. I have had the same mod deal with me over and over again. This same mod has had a personal negative experience with me in the past. So why is it that the same mod still deals with my bans and appeals over and over? Like I said, there is bias.

People have asked another mod to take over due to bias but I've never seen their request taken into consideration.

It's usually not up to request, as an appeal that was taken up earlier in the week asked for only their friends lol.

Sometimes Kerahna and Fun watch over our appeals, so that they ensure it's as unbiased as possible. You may say that switch to another moderator once banned but that's a pain, handing over evidence and such like that. The other moderator wouldn't really know as they weren't there. If on forums, ok that's a bit different as many people view some points at a time, but at the end of the day it's just a pain.

Personally I refuse to take over appeals from friends and people I don't like, and if there is abuse to a certain moderator, they can't handle it themselves.

Not necessarily. You just have an opposing view. Everyone has their own point of view. Not everyone is friends with a moderator, and not everyone is the same. You have your own respective view with people that agree with it. Some of us have our own respective views it just turns out that a former smod/forum admin shares our view.

    of course you do lol
first time i agree with you, mate. support

not true. they're supposedly handled by the banning moderator. just because some mod says something doesn't mean you go back them up with another of the same sentence because you want to be a mod.

Ideally moderators are supposed to encourage one another to ask a different moderator to handle a situation where they might make a biased decision. It's something we've more recently been enforcing and I completely agree. We know there's been incidents like that, and we're trying to enforce that policy. We've actually been catching each other latey, like, "hey, Clxrity, they're your friend so let me or someone else handle that". Even if it may not seem like we are trying to fix and avoid that, I want to assure you we are.
