Both, you have succeeded in failing. The damages to your vehicle don't matter. You should just say that YOU did it, it was a freak accident (unless you did it intentionally, which is a whole different story) and you will pay ALL you can to cover for the 4 year old's death. The thing is, you stepped on the puppy as well. I know you had good intentions on killing the ant. Just don't do that kind of thing again. It doesn't seem like a bad idea, maybe we can try it out.
