So I visit these forums often and as a long time member who cares about this place I do my part and report posts where people are breaking rules. It's something that most who care do.
    So what's my issue?
Well I never get a notification here when my reports have been handled. It's upsetting, but most of all it's frustrating when I have gone out of my way to report the post.

I can only assume it's the same for most people here. I'm not sure why a mod/t-mod wouldn't let the reporter know their report has been handled. Possibly they have never been told how? Possibly they were never trained that this is common practice?

Either way I have decided to make a little tutorial on how to notify when a report has been completed in hopes that new staff could lean how and improve.

    Thank you for reading.

It's really not needed to do that, it's optional. All that matters is that the report gets handled, the member reporting doesn't HAVE to know if it was rejected or accepted.

I am actually at more of a doubt that I will get mod. Someone had made a comment that made a huge dent in my app. But thanks, it does help. The cookie is chocolate chip.

It's not necessary, it is not mandatory to push that button that tells the member if it gets complete. It's an optional decision towards the staff member who is dealing with the report if they want it to be shown or not, this is not exactly like Mineverse, we have to different rules too. I never use it, and I know a lot of other moderators don't either since it's not necessary.

Why exactly does the reporter need to be notified? Nothing happens to them after their report is handled, it would be pointless for mods to go out of their way just notify them.

    This is sad.

It's like when you give your waitress back the burger letting her know it wasn't made properly but then never letting her know they are remaking her order. You just let her sit?

Optional, yes just like handling the report.
As for your remark about Mineverse, I've worked for way more than that one site. I was offering my hand to help the staff here, if you don't want that help, cool. Best of luck to you "trial mod".

I believe that he is stating that it doesn't have to happen. He emphasized that point. In other words it isn't necessary. I learned something from a friend named zephyr. Everyone has opinions, emerald has his respectable opinion as well. You can't really change that, and what emerald is doing isn't wrong. I have someone who has an opinion regarding me, however I learned that I just have to eat the dirt and move on. Believe me, its hard.

We are still helping the player by resolving the report, a message they get after the report is not nessacary. It's not sad, it's just an optional decision that is up to the person that wants to resolve the report. It's not like we are not dealing with the report at all, just a side message.

This is why I applied, to help players. I resolve the reports, but I don't include a side message, that's not considered not helping. Sure, some moderators might use it, but it's not mandatory. A lot of a our things on the forums are not needed or are optional, and some players might take it more seriously.

Nyxa has a point as well. It does seem to be extra work. I see your idea pile, but I honestly find it unnecessary, even if its a nice gesture.

Edit: you are still totally awesome pile!
