It's because a God didn't make Earth. It's preposterous to deny astronomical facts that Earth was made like every other planet in the universe.
I am not really sure which one I believe in. I am more of a scientific person and want facts that can be backed up with proof as explanations, and believe that evolution did happen, but I also believe in other supernatural powers. I know this is kind of a touchy topic and people might not necessarily agree with me, but personally from my belief I have seen proof of supernatural powers, but also think that theories of evolution have enough proof to back them up that if I were asked, I would say that evolution did happen. The reason I believe in both is because I have had a few experiences that may just be my brain making stuff up or might be real. Once upon a time a few months ago, my dog ran away. They dug a hole under the fence and got out. We found 1 of my dogs but couldn't find my other one. Me and my mom took our bikes and went looking all around our house and couldn't find her. We finally gave up and started going back home. We got back home and this is the creepy part that people could easily disagree with and give some scientific explanation for what happened. We were walking up to my house to go inside, and all the sudden I hear something like a footstep behind me. It wasn't a series of them, it was just one. It could have easily been the bikes shifting or something, but it seemed too perfectly timed. I heard the footstep, looked behind me, and my dog was standing right there. We thought she was alright, but she wasn't. Later that night I was petting her and felt something sticky. I didn't know what it was at first, but then I felt something like blood. I took her to my mom and we found that someone had shot her and she couldn't walk. This is why I think it is creepy that I heard a "footstep" then she was right in front of our driveway where we would have definitely noticed her if she was there the whole time. When we took her inside, she literally couldn't walk because the wound was in her leg which is why I personally believe that it was a supernatural power like an angel or something that brought her to us because if she couldn't walk, I don't understand how she got back to our house. I have also had other experiences with what I think must have been supernatural powers, and not the good kind. I have had at least 2 dreams where I saw "demons". I know it was just a dream, but it felt too real to ignore. The creepier thing too is that the "demon" told me about something in my dream and it came true later that day. When it came true I didn't think anything of it, then I instantly remembered the dream. I have also met people who have had things happen to them, like for example, my priest said that once, one of the choir members was talking to him and said that he wanted to believe in God, but just needed a sign that he was real. Later that day, a big billboard sign fell on the choir member's car while he was driving home. I do not doubt that evolution happened, but I think that it might have been God's way of creating everything. I don't believe in the stories about how humans were just "zapped" here by God and all of the sudden life started. I think that things like evolution and theories about how the earth formed are correct, but I think that it was God's way of creating us, because science can't explain how apparently there was literally nothing, and then a "big bang" happened and all of the sudden all of the elements in the world, and the whole universe was formed. I believe that the big bang might have happened, but I don't believe that it happened for no apparent reason. I believe that some kind of supernatural power such as God started it, and made everything like that happen. Please do not get mad at me, I am not trying to offend anyone or say that their point of view is wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own perspective on things, but I am simply stating my point of view, and what makes me believe it. I do not want to get into a giant argument, so If you quote me and try to give a bunch of reasons as to why I am wrong or why I should not believe in what I do, I will simply say that you can have your own opinion, but are not going to change mine.
I'm skeptical. But as I said; theories can at least be studied and looked into scientifically. Religious beliefs are exactly that - beliefs that cannot be tested scientifically. It's all in one's faith. This is why I retain an open mind. Nobody knows if creationist ideas are true until you're dead, and the dead can't speak, lol.
the ice age ended bc the earth got a lot of light from the sun. if that, literally, is not called global warming, goodbye. aside from pandas and certain koalas+birds, the apes are the mammals that also have opposable thumbs and (un)coincidentally have similar features as a human. if god made earth, then what about all the planets and the other galaxies that hold planets similar to earth with probably alien-like populations? this planet is as unique as it comes as we may be the only one of our kind. when I pass a test (just btw), I don't thank anybody but myself. My mother says 'thank god' as she is as religious as I am addicted to chocolate. but no, unfortunately for her, my perfect scores came from my studying. you know, my own free will. at least some Christians kinda do believe in evolution. Mormons are so not into evolution.
I would like to give my take on these subjects, if I may. I am, in no way, an expert, but I would like to say some things. I should start out by saying; I do believe in Creationism. I am going to give my response to the posts here, and state my opinion. If you do not like it, that is your prerogative. To touch on the idea of global warming, yes... I believe the earth is indeed getting warmer. That is simply a fact of life. I lived for 16 years where it snowed, and I remember vividly watching as the snow times slowly crept away. Arguing that fact, is like arguing that pizza is delicious. You just can't. KrymZ, I would like to note that, simply because someone has an official site, and status in a particular field, does not necessarily mean they are right about something. For the world to all the sudden get extremely hot, after 100's of thousands of years, simply can't be proven. What MindSensation posted about more recent years, yes... there is definitive proof, that the earth has undergone serious changes, because of humans. We are practically poison to the earth. luckynumber56 Everything about Creationism(that of the Bible), is 100% provable. You may have been shown or told things by people, who simply seek to flatter themselves, but... should you read it directly from the Bible, everything you will see, will become clear. Coastic, parts of evolution can most certainly, be proven, but where it counts(that of how long and how everything happened), is simply preposterous. That link you shared, does give a lot of good, factual proof, to how creationism is true, and there are many more like that, that you can look up, that I'm sure will even more, concrete that truth. Connortim9, as I stated above, there are parts of evolution that CAN be proven; many things that you can't argue with. The fact that we split into two, from one, is simply not factual. No one thing, can create two that are greater then the first, it simply goes against life. As for the Bible. Everything fact about the Earth, that is inside the bible, can most certainly be proven. It's when you start to add on to it, that things get fuzzy. "If it isn't broke, don't fix it." Crystal, while I do believe global warning is a stage, and that it certainly will drastically affect the world, I do not believe this has ever happened. Everything that people claim happened because of "ice(and the like)," the Bible proves happened with the Flood. The grand Canyon, for example... people say that the layers were formed throughout millions of years, yet those same people believe that immensely large amounts of pressure, at quick rates can also cause those "layers" to form, and even cause things to look "aged" or fossilized. Anonymous_Dooor & Exasperaties as you two were debating together, I would like to answer you both. Global warming is most certainly real. We don't even have to take what people say, just look at the world. it's getting hotter and hotter, things are not cooling down. Global warming certainly did have an effect on animal life, and human life. As I'm sure you are aware by now, I fully believe in the flood. Any scientist worth his salt, can prove to you, very quickly, that there used to be a much thicker ozone layer, and now, it is much thinner. Because of the ozone layer becoming much thinner, we naturally have a lot more of the sun's rays coming in, which is why we do not live as long. The sun burns oxygen much faster, then before, and our bodies are not able to sustain the sun's rays, so we do not live as long as before. This layer of ozone being removed is what caused the Flood. All that water had to go someone, and so it came down. Exas, fossils do not take millions of years to create, that is simply a "patch" that evolutionists have put into play, to try and strengthen their "Theory of Evolution." Evolution was not create by facts and truth(though, their are many in it), it was created by simple-minded people(or in the case of Charles Darwin, a man who hated God, and wanted other people to too, and so he theorized the lie of Evolution. There are many studies and biographies done on this man, that would interest you more, should you like to explore this topic in detail. Syndicade, there were not "gods and goddesses." There is One God, and He made everything. The people who wrote the Bible, did not believe the earth was flat. That was a myth, started by people who didn't want to believe the Bible. That myth only arose in the 17-1800's, or around that time. The Bible was written thousands of years ago, and that can be proven with scrolls, and other documents, that can be PROVEN to be much much much older. The fact that you so dearly hold onto a theory, rather then a factual truth, means you may not want to know the truth. It's like someone believe that lying is only a theory, yet lying is proven by life, to always be false. Blyx, the world is "fully evolved," as you say. The world is not getting healthier, stronger, more adaptive, it's dying. Global warming, and climate change are just a couple of examples to this. Even humans are "devolving" if you want to say that. We used to be able to use more of our brains, now we don't even use a fraction of our potential. This is proven, with simple things like, the Pyramids. No man, architect, genius, or even Einstein himself could ever figure out how they created the pyramids. Simple fact: they were smarter. We humans are relying more and more on technology. That does not make us smarter, it makes us more vulnerable. The fact that every nuclear warhead, fighter jet, and missile launcher works on electricity, should show you that. With every disease we cure, or natural phenomenon we explain, 2 more rise up. The world is not getting better, it's getting worse. As far as the world being created in six days; I do believe that was actual days. the Bible does say "evening and morning" meaning... an actual, 24hr time-period. Dinosaurs definitely did exist, there is no doubt to the contrary. Some still exist today, if you count whale sharks or other monster-sized animal that inhabit the deep waters of our oceans, and more are being discovered every year. Michael, humans weren't just "zapped" here. Humans were created from dust. Which is why when we die, and our bodies deteriorate we become.. dust. The simple fact is, everything, whether it be one year, or 1,000+, turns to dust. No object, or substance can avoid this. If something has life-it will eventually turn to dust. Darkify, there are no signs of life on any other planet, nor will there ever be. No other planet comes even close to Earth. They keep finding all these substances and such on other planets, yet none can sustain life. It's like a dog chasing it's tail. As far as an ice age, there is nothing that can prove an ice age happened. Simply-because it didn't. People take what truly happened, with the Flood, and try to pervert it into some alternate form of thinking. Just because something is talk in school, does not mean it's true. it's important to keep an open mind, and do your own studying, not just reading what other people say. yes, the Earth is much hotter, but not because of "global warming." It's because the ozone layer is much thinner then it was. Again, this can be proven with ease. The theories of Evolution are mostly provable, and should be taken as fact. But, when it comes to how our Earth was formed, and how the Universe came to be, it's simply not possible that it's telling the truth. I came to these realizations on my own, and didn't even need the Bible to do so. When I realized just how true the Bible was, and how false Evolution was, it boggled my mind. Remember, just because someone explains something to contradict something they are afraid of, doesn't give it base. You need to discover for yourself the truths about our world, and not blindly follow what someone else says, just because "they're smart." At any rate... I'm gonna leave it at that. If anyone would like to delve into this further, I am more then happen to, just PM me, and I would be glad to show you why I believe this to be true, and to show you without a shadow of a doubt, that Creationism is the only way it could have happen. If you're looking for a fight, or just wanna gang up on me, do yourself a favor and don't. If you're truly wanting to learn, and teach me, then feel free. Have a great day, guys!
sorry to the religious people who are going to get triggered by my opinion but the bible is purely fiction xd xd
