People keep saying this, but staff contradict themselves.

Staff can't lock their profiles according to their mood and then tell players who make threads and reports about it to not publicly call out a staff member and to message them first.

    That's a good point.
The user could make a thread letting the mod know they need help and can not message them privately.

I'm sympathetic to why she has done this, but I do see both sides.

It wasn't intended to target one moderator. I was simply using her as an example. I'm just pointing out that staff can't be directly contacted if needed on the forums if they shut it all out.

Don't really agree with the idea of mods being able to do this. Makes it harder for players to contact them if they are needed. I support revoking it

Of course it is. You are trying to take away their right to privacy.
You think they would support that?

It's has nothing to due to privacy. It has to do with that they're a mod and them having these things locked prevents them from doing their job.

It has everything to do with privacy.
I understand what you are saying and believe me I see both sides. Don't try to change what you are asking. You are asking that they should never be able to lock their profiles and/or conversations like a regular member. You are stating that because they are staff they should not have that right.

lovely, this stuff. The server is more or less global, people all over the world go on. you wouldnt hear a chinese person complaining about the right to privacy doesn't exist in China

I already told you I see your side. I get it.
I just don't think this is the answer. As far as I've seen this has only become a problem recently and with only one mod.
Why remove privacy rights from all for the actions of one?

If you think it's unfair what she is doing strike up a conversation with Cyp. If he agrees with you he will speak to here. I don't think removing everyone's perms to keep their profiles private is the answer tho.

I understand you see both sides, and I do understand that mods have "rights" but It's my personal feeling. Also as stated it's not my intentions to throw the one mod under the bus, she just so happened to be an example. At most leave the inbox open. Moderators should be contacted easily. If things like profile and inbox are locked, how can one do such. Yes I understand the help section, but not all mods respond or even go there.

When people did their mod application, to my knowledge, each and every one of them said they wanted to help people with their struggles, etc. This is making this harder for both sides. Mods so that they can't help people, and the players because they don't receive help

Neutral, but more on the support side. I see that moderators want their personal space and all, but if players need help they would probably contact a staff member by messaging them. If their profile is locked, that player might experience a lot of difficulties, so it's best to unlock their profiles since players need their help. But moderators also need their personal space.

    Support, again.

Moderators get their fair amount of personal space when *majority* AFK half the time. They signed up for moderation knowing that they needed to help everyone that they could. They signed up knowing that they needed to be contactable anytime, including: skype, teamspeak or other medias. To then block people out is stupid to me. Being a mod doesn't mean you just need to be contactable by the server owners. They need to be contactable by the players as well. I understand where Dewmellon is coming from. I needed urgent help but couldn't contact the mod as they had disabled it. This was disgusting to me. People should feel happy and comfortable to know that they can ask a question if they need help etc.

And "they can just ask another mod" is not an acceptable reply. Most people either feel comfortable asking a mod they've seen online or like me they needed to ask a specific mod.

    In conclusion;
In my opinion which I am very much entitled to, you may as well not be a mod if you can't fulfil the simple task of helping and/or being there for someone in need of it.
