Moderators locking players out.

Staff Members can lock their profiles or whatever, but they SHOULD NOT be able to lock convos. If you have some beef/secret info, you should not have to go through another staff member to exchange it. If somebody uses convos to harass the mod, ban/ignore them.

 

I think one of the problems is, that when let's say you need some assistance and you go to online members, and you see one mod on. But you click their page, and it's locked and they have convos disabled.

Well sure, of course message another moderator, but if it is an urgent issue then there is no use.

So it's okay for mods to shut out players that NEED help.

 

That shouldn't be the case, what if there is only that mod online, are you saying it's okay to leave a player that needs help waiting?

 

They're a staff member. It is their job to help players when they need it. This isn't about their activity, it's allowing players to get the help they need.

 

You're not a user, you're a super mod. You locking your profile and inbox prevents you from doing your job.

 

They are moderators, when you apply you're preparing yourself to take on the responsibility to help players.

Actually it appears you need to not use phrases created before you were born.

I believe profiles should be allowed to be locked if they must, but inbox really? The harassment is THAT bad? If you can't stand a couple people that dislike you, you don't have to be here. Or there always is the ignore button.

The only thing I find that is pure idiocy is why you have such a big problem with it.

 

Support for inboxes, if they block out the only way to contact them outside of in-game, then they can't help people like they all agreed too in their apps and they shouldn't be mod.

 

It's a genuine suggestion, you posted your no support, just leave the thread.

 

Staff aren't "just normal players," and especially not when it's convenient for them.

You have responsibilities, and being accessible to people who need your help if one of them. If you can't do what you're supposed to, you shouldn't be staff.

This is a pointed thread aimed at one mod because she closed her profile and conversations to not be harassed.

As for your comment "mods clearly don't care" that's just not true. If they didn't care why would they continue to keep their rank only to be targeted daily by users? Wouldn't it be easier to just resign?

As for the suggestion, I've personally never closed my conversations, but I close my profile from time to time for privacy. While I agree that staff should be accessible when help is needed, there is a help section for just that. Users are welcome to use that section of forums.

While I don't like the idea of staff closing themselves off, I understand it. She's already stated it's temporary. If you honestly feel it's not ok you could always message Cyp. I don't see any other staff doing this so I don't see a reason to make it a rule.
