⚑⚐Server Advertising?⚐⚑

So, on most major Minecraft server lists, a server can buy a "sponsored" spot where their server's banner will appear at the very top of the list. What I thought is maybe Skyblock could buy some of these spots. I know they're expensive (sponsored spots on Minecraftservers.org go for up to 3500$) but I feel like it could really help the server get big again.

Often, when servers first buy a sponsored spot, they only have about 50 or so players on them regularly. After their sponsored spot has expired, they will often have 100, 150, 200 or even more regular players on them afterwards. I know that it will take most of the server's monthly donations to buy even one of these spots. But if it works, Skyblock could have nearly 400 people on at certain times.

I'm only proposing something the server could do and its up to CypriotMerks and Noobcrew to decide what to do. But I want your opinion, should Skyblock buy some of these sponsored spots on major Minecraft server lists?

 

Isn't proposing something the server could do a suggestion? Players could discuss the issue if it were in the suggestions section. We can move this thread if you want it moved to suggestions for you.

 

Yeah sure, you can move it to suggestions. I will edit it for it to be in the correct section.

 

This won't solve it completely. Many new players won't get helped by others unless there is a wannabe moderator on or a nice player. New players leave as few people help.

Their are better ways to advertise a server properly.

I think this would be benificial big time for the server though $3500 is crazy. If we can find cheaper services then sure

Here is what I can do


I can setup a YouTube ad through ad words in am financially prepared for it and ready to do it. But I need permission from the owner because this is big and not simple at all.

Ya sure? Cause this kind of stuff will put that green color on your site with the word [Ad] next to it. As well as being a per click kind of payment.

 

I was thinking the same thing today! And if there is an advertising website that would help out the server, (net and org) that wouldn't be but around $50..... I could pay for that if Cyp/Crew wants.

When these two servers had a lot of people on, I found it more enjoyable honestly.

 

They won't drop more than 10$ on most anything

2 weeks normally. Although it can be more or less depending on the website.

 

There should be a YouTuber coming on Skyblock and the server to have its own YouTube channel.

 

Today, a Saturday, .Net didn't even get up to 200 people. Just 6 months ago, it would easily reach 300 or even 350 on Saturdays. If major advertisement is not done by the server, I feel it will die out completely.

Tbh 3000 is alot for an ad. I can get people from private servers I go on to come here and the same outcome would happen, but no money would be wasted. Cyp isnt going to do anything probably, so why don't we just try to get more people on ourselves. If the adds only up for 2 weeks... no support. It's way too much money. If the price is 50 or below, maybe it wouldn't be that bad.

 

Google ad words is a wonderful advertising method. You can set you budget limit on how much money per click each day. Very very useful.
