If a player is reporting someone for advertising, they have a screenshot of them advertising. To anyone who saw that screenshot may go to that server, so maybe we should hide someone advertising in a report?
bro shouldn't this be in suggestions? if it's a suggestion i 100% support because the person who reports then would get banned for ads
You can put your screenshot in [ hide ] [/ hide ] tags so only moderators can see them, that way people won't be able to see the advertised link when the report is archived.
yeah, that's what I mean. I know what that is, I'm just saying that only moderators should see it, not everyone.
Like Kerahna said, you can use the hide technique so other players can't see your report, but most players do not know how to use the hide trick. This could be useful for some players that go around looking for servers then advertising them, but it's not really needed. If you want to make a suggestion, please move this to the suggestions section.

I know you can'gt move it to suggestions, I was saying you could make a moderator close this thread and make a new one in suggestions or make a moderator move this to the right section. Some players know about the hide trick, do you mean that it automatically hides what they type in the report so only mods can see it?
I don't think many players go to scout for new servers by looking at the screenshots from reports. It's a safe bet they won't. That's why either way I don't worry about hiding it, and players don't get in trouble for advertising because it's a report.
I'm not saying players should be punished for making a report, lol. but it'd be better if it were hidden.

That's what I was saying, I added the punishment part to put people at ease. Mods will have to hide the posts because not all players know how. And in my opinion, the years we haven't hidden the posts, nothing horrible has happened... So I see no point in the extra work when it isn't an issue.
The player could do that, but it is most unlikely. Lets say someone is advertising a server, I report them and they get banned. Another advertiser gets banned and goes on the forums to make an appeal, while they are there they go to report archive and finds a new server, they file an appeal and their appeal might get accepted. If it gets accepted they might go on back on the server and advertise the server that they found in archive. This is the most unlikely thing that would happen on here, but there is like a %1 change it might happen. Also, if people advertise and get banned, they most likely would not make an appeal on the forums since they just wanted people to join their server, there are millions of other servers to advertise on so they wouldn't go on the forums and look stuff, they would just be done with our server and won't come back (unless an alt).
