Since you seem so clever, why not tell me what Cyp is failing so badly at? I'm curious to know.

I only see like two of these messages on new peoples profiles. To me its great, it welcomes the new player with a strong sense of community and that person is more likely to stick around.
    *Rated negatively*
mods generally dont answer questions writen in chat because thats not part or their job. Its especially not their job when they are being swamped with questions and have to log and do other tasks. Also a lot of the time mini-modding occurs when there is no mod online. When I minimod I make sure there are no mods online and if there is maybe one or two ill pm asking them if it would be helpful to them for me to minimod (ie: answering questions in chat)
its called donating. EULA will come around eventually as well.
I dont know economy well enough but from my breif experience on it I would say this would do well in the suggestions section of forums.
Put your money where your mouth is. Dont start the corruption discussion without specific cases and proof.

Okay, didn't expect this to catch fire so damn much, but I have a lot to reply to, so let's start.
    First, of course..
    I KNEW IT WAS YOU
    HEL,LO BB
    I AGREE WITH YOUR LIFE

    Anyhow
Well, to remind you, FluffyIsEpic stated that he'd "joined the game two years ago when it started"
You probably wouldn't know, because Skyblock didn't start two years ago, so why did you say sorry to the dude, he was lying. Skyblock started in 2012, if my memory serves, and that's FOUR years ago. Who was so "Clever", again..?
Also, to actually answer that question, Cyp disrespected half of his old staff team, who were loved by the community, which caused them to leave, causing a rift in the community, dropping the playerbase by a decent bit. Cyp also favors certain people because they kiss up to him MUCH more, and certain people because they spend more money. It's completely biased for his attention, and a good admin would spread his attention evenly, no matter how they treat him.
They're more likely to stick around? I mean, clearly that's not true, since the entire old playerbase stuck around without any of those messages, and we have a smaller playerbase in game and on forums now.. So.. Sure, it might not trace all back to that, but it sure as hell isn't helping much.
It's not part of their job? Cyp literally STATES REPEATEDLY that mods should try to answer questions to the best of their ability whenever they can. Mod would just be a tag with some perks that chills in the background if they weren't there to answer questions.
I'll tag you in a different post later when I decide to actually unveil the stories of what happened to a large amount of previous mods, which proved why Cyp himself is corrupt. Until then, you'll have to wait.

I kinda lawled at the ignorance here because you assume people that kiss up to him are the ones that are in contact with him. Along with people who spend money, you assume he talks to them more. Lol. Its just like when people assume that the mod team can easily get responses out of him. Yet, look at how many mods tag him on threads xD

I've been friends with him for years, it gets annoying hearing these assumptions over and over along with assumptions about why a mod was or wasnt demoted. Nor do people know the convos that he has and with who... Sigh.

Considering that I've had conversations specifically regarding the demotion of multiple mods for incorrect reasons and/or disrespect (Truthfully, they aren't incorrect reasons, since Cyp is the one making these reasons, but the disrespect is my focus here).

Also, I meant that by donating, the tags/nicks of a donor are much more visible to a simple green, plus in the sea of green nicks of non-donors on net (Best example is net) versus the typically vibrant colors of a donor's nick, it's most likely he's going to notice the latter. Plus, he's seen tons of non-donors, I'm almost positive he's got the color fried into his mind, whereas donors typically change their nicks, drawing his attention much more, since he can't get multiple colors stuck in his mind when they're changed commonly (In most cases, some donors do keep their nicks the same for long periods of time).

He hardly talks in chat to people, if he's even looking at the game. And honestly, if they get demoted, its something they did. Simple lol, if there was disrespect in a conversation, then many more mods would have been demoted lol

If you're complaining about bias on an online forums of any kind, well, I have one thing to say to you.

    Welcome to Earth, my friend.

On this lovely little green planet of ours, bias is ubiquitous. In every aspect of human society, bias plays a huge role in the opinions given, the comments posted, the speeches given. The skyblock forums is no exception.

??? I'm not sure how the existence of "friend groups" equates to a fear of negative ratings. When you say friend groups, I think of people only talking to the few people with whom they are friends. That's definitely not what you're talking about. Why not just call it for what it is--the fear of getting negative ratings (or, if you make a better argument, peer pressure)? Everywhere in society, you will find people who care about the opinions of others (and guess what--it really sucks to be them). Yet, the sad thing is, such people are everywhere. If you don't like them, make friends with the people who speak their mind and do so proudly. This isn't so much a problem with skyblock as it is a problem with society.

The Noobcrew pun is entirely intended when I say to you be friends with the shepherds and not the sheep. ;)

    I agree with you.

I agree with the idea that they exist. Is this a problem though? No. I agree with the mods in that players who are genuinely helping are not a problem. Take NarcissaMalfoy27 for example. Considering the level of help (both in chat and in PM) that she gave, she fits your description of "mod tryhard" quite well. She was basically a moderator without the tag. What happened as a result? She got the position. But so what? Moderators can't help everyone, and they can't help more than one person at the same time. "Mod tryhards" can actually be quite beneficial. Even if it's just one player at a time, one could even say that such players help maintain the playerbase. If players like these are one of the problems with the server, well, that's your opinion. An argument like that reminds me of people complaining about nerds in school. As the saying goes, it is those under one of those very same nerds that you will work under one day. I do not find it coincidental that the beneficial "tryhards" end up ranking above you in the server as well.

Although, if a player is obsessing over a 3 letter long prefix on skyblock and only helps to further that obsession, then yes--it's a problem. Concerning these players that ostentatiously help (and unnecessarily), I agree with what SugarCane/Fun said in that they're an issue. If one such player gets promoted, then he/she won't last as a moderator. I understand your argument (made later) about inactivity, but there aren't any mods don't help despite being online.

With respect to welcoming people to the forums, you're being absurd. This is a community. Indeed, many people stay on this "declining server" because of that very same community. I myself welcome players to the server, yet I have never applied for mod and probably will not do so in the future either. You're making some terrible assumptions. Although, are you completely wrong? No. Some players that are vying for mod do welcome new players. So what? You can't become a moderator just by welcoming players to the server--but there's nothing wrong with being competitive for a position.

    Already covered.

I partially agree. If you got down to it, the kits aren't "too op." If you want to adhere to the EULA, donors shouldn't have kits at all. Skyblock is a survival server and to survive you need two things: food and materials. As for the food, the kits aren't a problem--not even /kit spawner, as there are more public grinding spots than I could care to count. As for materials, the cobblestone in kits is a big problem. Concerning the grass, it should be taken out. But the diamonds? If Cypriot added villager trades with diamond armor and tools (for fairly cheap prices), then the diamonds would be pretty much obsolete in the grand scheme of surviving on skyblock. The only use they'd have would be buying and selling rare items. Yet, the trading of items isn't a purpose of the server at all. It's a part of skyblock that was created, maintained, and is performed by the players. Additionally, items such as heads, end portal frames, dragon eggs, netherstars, etc. are all just for show, so they lie outside of the EULA. The funny thing is kits are mainly used as an advantage in trading. Most donors (myself included) give away the diamond pickaxes, cobblestone, and redstone in our kits. We keep the sand because it's illegal to trade and hold on to the diamonds and grass for trading purposes.

In sum, Skyblock is kind of pay to win, but not in the way that you probably think.

Concerning donor400, I think you're funny. People get their own money and naturally have the right to spend it in whatever manner that they choose. If you enjoy this "block game," then feel free to spend your money on it. If you think people shouldn't buy donor400, then you might as well say that people shouldn't buy donor10. :p

Really? An Africa reference? You might as well be saying that everyone who goes to Starbucks or McDonalds is a complete and utter monster, because the money spent on those Frapuccinos and BigMacs could have been spent on starving African children too. Are Frapuccinos and BigMacs helpful in any way? No, they're actually quite the opposite, but they're tasty and people desire to buy them. Also, good food can make a person happy. Is donating on a minecraft server helpful? Nope. You pointed that out yourself. Yet, much in the same way, people desire to buy them, and server donations make players happy.

I don't play on .org, so I won't comment here. Although, I assume that the replies that I gave to the .net related issues cover .org as well.

That's true, more people played in 2014 than 2016. Is that loss of players due to these things that are "wrong with skyblock?" I think not. People grow up, move on; drama happens and pushes people away; games rise and fall in popularity, and so too does this apply to minecraft servers. Whatever the case, I think the trend is something that the administration and staff should worry about, not you, the player who incorrectly assumes that he knows "quite literally everything" that is "wrong" with something that is as complex as skyblock.net. Don't get me wrong, I agreed with some of what you said--there are indeed problems on .net. However, I disagree with you on the majority of your points. Most of the listed items aren't problems or are only partially problems, and I disagree entirely with the idea that the issues of this server can be summed up in any one mere thread.

If I were to end a thread like this with any one claim, what would it be? Ah, this line fits the bill. It's unsupported and unrelated, though, to anything in your thread except for the title.

If you were to include evidence, I might agree with you. However, I might not. Neither you nor I can ever completely know what happened between CypriotMerkz and the moderators that he has demoted. I agree with Exasperaties . And of course, I hold by this opinion even if you've had specific conversations with the ex-staff involved. You've just heard one side of the story. Did you talk to Cyp about it? Did you hear what he had to say? If not, you're working with very first thing that you complained about in this thread--bias.

Well, this should be interesting if something has been holding you back from posting this...I suppose it might be because of the immature writing that will result in negative ratings that have been holding you back. Well, since that's obviously not a reason according to what is said below, this should be interesting then! Let's get right into it and break this comment down.
Content aside, your writing ability is not the best here. You're arguing over whether or not to make a list in this part of the comment that's not neccessary since it doesn't go along with the content of your post.
"Bias" Nice starting to the list, right into the issue then? Next sentence doesn't really help at all with your argument over the forums, but hey! Let's just ignore Bias and go right into friend group only...ish? Seriously? You started the argument with bias, ended it with "Bias." then started the next item on the list. Not helping at all here, just saying.

With that in mind, let's judge the next item on the list, "Friend group only(ish)". Just a side note here, if its friend group only or if its not, just say so, don't say (ish) it doesn't help because its saying you don't really think its friend group only or maybe it is, I honestly don't know what you're thinking in that sentence. Any who, the rest of the paragraph is arguing that the internet is the internet. Newsflash, this is the internet. We have the freedom to post whatever we want (exceptions apply on this forum specifically) and we can believe in whatever we like on the internet. If I don't want negative ratings on my account, I don't have to post a comment that will result in negative ratings. So, your argument here is pretty invalid and the paragraph long reason on "friend group only(ish)" doesn't fit its theme. So far, none of your reasons on everything wrong with the forums are backed up by evidence, facts, or good writing skills that might convince me of something being wrong with the forums.

Next paragraph contains a few sentences that make a few true statements, but don't back up your theme of, "Friend group only(ish)". "Try and look around the forums for a post regarding Cyp that doesn't kiss up to him. I dare you" I mean, you're not wrong here, but still, its more of a fear factor thing of respecting your leader instead of kissing up to him. Since, we all know those who disrespect the leaders of our groups in life get the ban hammer of justice. Also, if you feel like kissing up to Cypriot, go right ahead, nothing wrong with that, I don't see a rule against that on the forums (unless I'm blind like you say we, the community, are).
"from anyone they know, and most are afraid of being "kicked out", so to speak, of their little base of friends to say anything that they truly feel." Again, freedom to comment about whatever we want (with exceptions) and if say I know my friend might be offended (which I normally wouldn't care) by what I would say, maybe I should hold off on saying anything offensive on the forums. Next, "Mod Love". Oh boy, mod love, I wonder what....oh boy...another badly supported item on the list.

So, let me explain to you how the work life works. As a person, you need money. In the business life, you make money by working for a business that gives you a cut of what the business makes from selling items you make to sell to other people (generally speaking, exceptions may apply). But, in order to get into that business, you need to impress the dude recruiting everyone, who will also be your boss while working there. So, in order to impress the boss, you have to be able to prove to him that you can talk the talk and walk the walk. You gotta be positive, hard working, skill improving, 100% macho man machine that is worthy of that job opening. So, you gotta prove to that boss that you can do the job by showing him examples of you doing that job, or experience in knowing how to perform the tasks required.

That in mind, lets go back to Skyblock for a second. As a member of the community, new member rather, you need to prove to Cypriot that you are worthy of being a moderator of Skyblock. You gotta walk the walk and talk the talk. You gotta be positive, hard working, willing to answer any question that comes to you, and be that Macho Man Supreme that he wants you to be as a mod. So, yeah the hard workers of the community might accidentally answer a question 10 times, so? Its better than a mod answering once and that message disappearing the flood of chat. So, if your gonna pull the excuse of, "Oh, people try too hard to be like a mod" then you need a reality check sir. Let's move on before I say anything offensive shall we?

Repeating yourself here, doesn't help if you repeat the same freakin thing over again. Moving on, "Pay to win". Yeah no, on another server, maybe? But, not skyblock sorry. Skyblock has no goal, therefore there is nothing to pay to win. Argument invalid. Also, $400 on a minecraft server? whatever, its that player's choice to spend how much money he wants, its his money. Its not your money he's spending, its his. He can do whatever he wants with it. We are not the judges of what he does with it. Argument invalid.
Not gonna comment much since its mostly stuff I've already covered.
More? Please post, I'd like to state all the flaws on the list since I've not seen one "real" problem with Skyblock at all. "Corruption" Da heck did that come from? Not sure where you got that from, but hey good for you that you posted that at the end with no facts to back it up. So, my post is about done and all I gotta say is well done. You made zero sense in each statement and backed up none of it (evidence wise). If you are gonna argue that there are problems with a server, please try to put a bit more effort into it.

Yep, no one used to do that, and now it seems like everyone does it. IMO, it's fine to go to a newbie's profile and say "Hey!" or "Welcome!", but acting like you're a mod, nah.

You forgot to include the fact that on net, if you're a greenie, you get ignored. I tried playing net for one day as a greenie, and it was horrendous. It was especially horrible when I messaged a mod to try to get some help, they wouldn't reply, so I messaged all the other mods and none of them replied. (None of them were AFK, they were just having a nice convo in chat with their friends.)

I agree, org definitely needs a stricter "inactivity policy".
Here are two examples of extremely inactive mods:
Now to be fair, RobloxianRoblox did change the signs recently, and Kerahna has started playing a bit recently, but we do need a more active staff team.
However, I have noticed something with mods that is disappointing. I'm not saying all mods do this, but when someone makes a mod app, they usually try to be as active as they can, and help out as much as they can. Then, when their mod app gets accepted, the activity starts to die off in the trial mod stage, but they still try to help out enough to be promoted to a full mod. Once they are promoted, usually, they start to slack off and eventually they become one of those inactive mods that you rarely see online. Luckily, we don't have any of these type of mods on Org at the moment, but we have in the past and it is extremely disappointing.

Any server with donation perks that help players will have some pay to win factor. On Org, once you get Highroller, it is extremely easy to grind non-stop (with /god and /fly). And yes, I do believe grinding needs to either go away, or be made obsolete by some other method of making money. The best for Org's economy (IMO) was back in 2012/13, when pumpkin farms hadn't taken off yet, and the main way of making money was having a shop.

By saying those two statements, Goden, you're hypocritical.
You first said that if someone doesn't express your true opinions, they're blind, but now you're saying that if someone disagrees with you, they're blind. So... do you want people to show their real opinions or not?
If I'm interpreting this wrong, please let me know.

Since it was bumped again I figure I'll reply to the person who quoted me.

When I say I can't be f***ed to write it, I mean it. Much less the chance of explaining it to you in particular seeing your join date, the majority would be me explaining to you what it was like earlier on.
I gave my point and anyone relevant to it (meaning has been here since Crew was running everything till now) should be able to pick up generally on what I am talking about through comparing and contrasting, and yes disagree with some as well. I'm not going to think everyone will agree with anything I say because its ludicrous to think so.

You all seem to worry about this server then why not explain as to where all this will go to? I mean Cyp might not even bother? Does all this really matter in a sense to changes in the forums? I mean yes people do write what they truly feel now that I have to disagree with your point of view, I say everything I truly think. Negative ratings just means you have people disagreeing or hating on your comment that does not mean people WON'T write what they please. Cypriot aside from that won't stop you from writing YOUR OWN opinions and in a sense you can't just call people blind, that I find quite rude and yes some people can't speak up on forums because they're scared of negatives, now that's is true but other than that there is always others to come forth before them and take their place.

It is pay2win because someone who donates has a higher advantage at being better at the game then someone who is a greenie.

Tell me, who would be the first to reach 4 diamonds? A greenie or a skygod? Exactly. Therefore, it makes it pay2win. If it isn't pay2win, why doesn't Cyp update the server? Because of EULA rules, and he doesn't want the server closed.
