→ Clxrity's Moderator Application ← ☾------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☽ Hello! Thank you for taking it upon yourself to read my application. Skyblock has always been my favorite type of game to play. I enjoy the challenge of starting my own world in the sky. I'm very fascinated and in love with the way this particular skyblock server (.net & .org) has been set up. I am applying here because I feel that I know what is required and expected of me once given this position, and am completely willing to do just that. I hope you can see my potential and ability to help out here. ☾-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☽ Ⅰ | Your in-game name: My in-game name is Clxrity. Ⅱ | What timezone are you in? I am in the Eastern Standard Timezone (EST) UTC - 05:00 Ⅲ | What country do you live in? I live in the United States of America. Ⅳ | What languages do you speak? I can only speak fluently in English. Like many others, I am also learning other languages in school. Either way I will do my best to assist someone of a different language. Ⅴ | Do you have 2FA enabled? Yes/No Yes, I do. Ⅵ | Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence? (i.e. recording software, screenshots, etc) I have ways to capture evidence in any case. I use gyazo and the built in minecraft feature for screenshots. Meanwhile, the recording software FRAPS is always open for me to start recording when I need to. Ⅶ | Why do you think you should become a mod? I think, and certainly believe I should become a moderator due to these bundle of reasons. ➥ First, and what I believe plays an important role in making a good moderator, I am active. I believe it is important that a moderator is able to get online and handle things often. I certainly have the ability to do this. Not only do I simply enjoy playing on skyblock.net; but I am also very good at managing my time. This makes it so that I have the time necessary to moderate here, as well as do other things that take up my time. ➥ Secondly, I am responsible. I am very goal oriented. I have a large sense of urgency; meaning I know how to prioritize what is important to do in the moment. With the responsibility of moderating the server, and watching over it; I will for certain use the permissions given to me responsibly. ➥ I am knowledgeable regarding the server. I am aware of all the commands/permissions each donator ranks and non donors have, and how they work. I understand the economy; I'd be able to answer any questions there may be about the worth of an item - or something of the sort. I am extremely familiar with the plugins used on the server; and I'd surely be able to answer any questions players may have regarding things of that matter. ➥ I will always refrain from using a biased opinion. I am not a biased person, which is very important when moderating. There may come times when a player who I consider a "friend" breaks a rule. I understand that no matter the user, they have to be punished just as fairly as any other person would be. ➥ I am always willing to help someone. Yes, I would consider myself a helpful person. Even without the [Mod] tag I still make an effort to contribute by reporting players and answering a question if a mod isn't around. ➥ I'm very experienced with moderating. I've moderated for countless servers and websites. Not once have I been demoted, or failed to do my job. You can view some specific places I moderate or moderated in the past once you reach the "Do you have any past experience as a moderator?" heading. ➥ I am familiar with XenForo and how to work all the forum add-ons that are installed. It is not only important to have knowledge about in-game plugins/commands. Being a moderator, I am also responsible for watching over the forums. As stated, I have a lot of experience moderating server websites; most of which have been run with XenForo. Overtime, I learned a lot about how everything works - including specific add-ons that are used here. ➥ I am aware of the rules. Being someone who's applying to enforce the rules, it is important that I am aware of what I'm enforcing. I've played here long enough, and read over the official "rules" thread enough times to know all the rules, and all the background information behind them (meaning, I understand the reasoning behind each rule). Ⅷ | How long can you be active on the server everyday? I can be in-game for an estimated time of 1-3 hours every day, while browsing the forums all throughout the day. These times may vary on different occasions. Such as a day where I have a lot of homework, on vacation, and sometimes I could even be on more than that specified time. I am mainly online during strange times, or times that don't quite match with the majority of moderator's timezones. I believe I would be a big help during this period where most of our current mods aren't available. Ⅸ | How long have you been playing Skyblock? I've been playing here since January of 2016. Ⅹ | Have you ever been banned in the past? (Forums & In-game) I have never been banned or received any type of punishment. Ⅺ | Do you have any past experience as a moderator? I have quite a bit of past and current experiences with moderating. I currently moderate the Skyblock/Mineverse dubtrack room. I am also a moderator in the Skyblock/Mineverse teamspeak room. Currently a moderator on the neighborhood server also owned by Cyp and Crew, known as Mineverse. Lastly, I have moderated, been an admin, and participated in developing many small servers in the past as well. Ⅻ | Do you meet the requirements for staff? Yes/No 1) 50 Post Count: ✓ I have, as viewable on my profile, more than 50 posts. 2) Two Factor Authentication: ✓ Yep, it's enabled. 3) 2 Weeks registered on the Skyblock forums: ✓ I've been registered for roughly 7 months 4) Moderators are required to have Skype or Teamspeak 3 for offline communication: ✓ I have both, and am aware with how to use them. Yes, I meet the requirements. ☾-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------☽ Thank you for reading! I hope whomever reading has seen that I am very dedicated, and extremely willing to put time in to help out here. I can't control your opinion, but I would appreciate an honest one. If you do happen to leave a no support, please do explain why - and if possible, I would really appreciate if you could leave some advice so I could potentially improve. : ) Once again, thank you very much. ~ Clxrity
40% Support. Add more details in Why do you think you should become a Mod section. Also I see you in-game sometimes but I don't see you helping. Best regards, Rolly
Put some more work into your application and add some more detail. Also, I don't see much activity on Forums, work on that. I'll stay neutral for now, my support may boost up once I see some improvement. Best of luck
I'll certainly work on adding more detail to that section at some point. As for in-game, I try to help out at any opportunity I get. I very much appreciate the feedback, Rolly! I will be adding more detail, and working on my forum activity. Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely work on it Thanks Chicky.
I'm glad you think so. Thank you for the support! Any particular reasons and/or advice y'all could give me?
Hello there, Clxrtys. You have quite a nice application, however I think you should work on these things. Why did you choose it? Give an example? Does your timzone give you an advantage over the rest of the staff team? If so, why? Can you give a timetable for everyday, weekends, & holidays? Can you remember how you discovered this server? Overall, No support for now.
Fair enough. -------------- Thank you for the compliment, and I'm excited to hear your advice. Although I don't see why that is important enough to mention in my application; I chose it based off of a song. "Clarity" by Zedd ft. Foxes, to be exact. An example of me assisting someone of another language? To be completely honest, I never would've thought to screenshot, let alone remember any particular instance where I have. I actually did explain why right under the area you quoted: I've noticed most applications tend to make a little chart of specific hours they can be online on specific types of days. I was depicting on whether or not I should, but did end up deciding that what I stated was enough information. I will re-consider it since you've mentioned it, though. I certainly do remember how I discovered this server. I don't really see why that information should be provided, or how it would impact my ability to moderate. I'll think about whether or not I should add my discovering the server story. Thank you very much for the feedback, Scrutinize. I'll certainly consider adding some of the information you recommended.
Didn't you say you were learning other languages in school? Can you say a simple sentence like "Hello" in your language you were learning in school?
Unsure how this is really necessary. For your own satisfaction; I've been learning Spanish and French. Hello, my name is Clxrity. Hola, mi llamo Clxrity. Bonjour, Je m'appelle Clxrity. Some basic examples of those languages. Thank you Chicky!
Support, you are really active, and helpful in game as well as forums. You are completely capable for this position and would make a wonderful Moderator. Good luck!
