I couldn't think of a better name to suit what I'm trying to get at, so I used "trolling". Personally, I define this as purposely misleading, tricking, and giving false information - things like that. I believe that trolling should be put somewhere in the rules. No, not for people joking around or something along those lines. But, for serious matters. Such as a player saying: "Hey, if you do /suicide you can get free diamonds." which is in my opinion not okay. Staff can determine instances that can be considered trolling and decide whether it should be bannable. Sometimes you can have a little fun trolling with your friends, that's okay, you shouldn't be banned for that. It's things like this that bother me: Not only is it annoying, but tricking players. (Blacked out their names for their own convenience) Or, those people who make it look like they're messaging you. So, yeah, leave your thoughts.
The pictures you posted as chibi said are fake messages which will get you punished. BUT there are other types of trolling that make people to something detrimental to their playing experience which is illegal.
If you look at the definition of griefing it includes trolling and thus unwanted trolling is a punishable offence. This is usually how we treat trolling. Fake messages and broadcasts go under the punishments for spam unless the offender has a history for the offence, which gives a more severe punishment. Things like nick abuse (a kind of trolling) can end up with extended mutes for repeat offenders and sometimes tempbans for the severity of what was said using a persons nick. It may not be written down but it certainly is and has been a rule for a while.
I am very relieved to hear this is some-what against the rules. I use the term some-what since it's not blatantly written, but more of an implied rule based on what's written. Very well, I suppose you can close now. : )
