Name Changing

I just had this idea where you could change your name without staff having to do it. You could possibly be able to do it once a month. It would possibly look a little bit like this:

May I ask, in what way would it be confusing?

 

Well, if everyone was changing their name people wouldn't know who other people were.

 

That is why we have the previous names tab on our profiles which takes 3 seconds to look at. Perhaps there could be a month or 2 week cool down before changing a name?

 

In what way will it be confusing? People already change their ign a lot, I don't see how changing it yourself and it being approved is any different from what we do at the moment on the forums?

i think sean's thread is good enough; he is very organized and fast with it. considering how many times i change my forums name (lmao), i dont wanna wait a month. kind of like changing your ign name, you have to wait a month which sucks.

Do we not already have this...? I can go in and change my name right now, Sean just needs to approve it; not through the thread, but through my account settings. Idk what the cool down system is right now if we even have one.

 

I mean, there is a way changing your name through account settings. Minimum is 8 letters, though. A mod needs to approve of the name.


And I'll stay neutral on the cool down.

 

I'm going to stay neutral for now reasons being:

- People could Nick abuse. With Sean, he can check whether a player has a similar name and the requesting player is nick abusing.
- It will get complicated if people change their name continuously, no one will have an idea of who is who.
-And I just wanted a third point

It would be cool however, if instead just Sean changing our names, maybe the forum moderators could change them too ;3
