Staff Profiles.

I recently saw a staff member that had their profile locked aswell as conversations not open. I believe that staff members should be required to have conversations open to deal with private reports, appeals, etc.
It's not so much about profile posting, but more of conversations. As you could post personal information in a convo aswell as whatever else you wanted to post on the profile.

 

Adding onto this, I know you're not staff but aren't you running for staff?

 

It could be possible they're not aware of this, but they should always have a form of contact so this is needed

Yes, however I prefer to have them locked most of the time due to spam. If I ever happen to get accepted, I'll be more than happy to open them c:

Staff are like normal players (With more permissions) if they want their profile locked, let them do it.

 

What if a player needs to contact them for a specific reason? As what Krissy said, moderators could have their profile locked temporarily, but not forever.

 

Well, some people don't know how to Pm, so I get that. Maybe lower staff members like Trial mods can have that option, but the higher rank staff like S-mods and mods have to have their profile open?

Yes, but you do realise they chose to moderate? And decisions take risks. If they're going to moderate, they need to take "risks" in doing so. At least disable comments from people they're not following. Jesus christ, locking moderator profiles is stupid.

I personally believe moderators should have conversations and profiles open, having them locked in my opinion feels like they're not allowing players to ask for help or message them privately about a report they don't want shown publicly for whatever reason. I could see an exception like if they're taking a break from moderating.

 

I agree with this. They need to be able to communicate with the player in private.

 

You realize locking your profile is just another way to push off helping.
I'm sorry mods are harassed, but its part of that job and if they can't handle a little harassment... *shrug*

 

I understand the reasoning behind a staff wanting to close their profile, completely. I think that if you signed up for this job, you signed up for the bad things that come with it (people harassing you on your profile, ect). It is your job to assist players and keeping your profile locked limits that. Players shouldn't have to go through an obstacle course just to be able to get in touch with you— you're a staff member.

Alright so.. The profile part, we should be able to lock/open our profiles whenever we want. Keeping them permanently open is actually not fair towards the Moderators side, 'cause in the end of the day, we're normal players too. Conversations, maybe.
No support for keeping profiles open at all times, as profiles aren't the place to ask for help. As for conversations, I'm staying neutral because there is more than one Mod that players can talk to, and I'm sure not all have their conversations locked.

 

As I said, it's not really the profiles I'm worried about, it's more of the profiles. It's fine if the profiles are locked due to an issue for a few days, but not permanently.
