-Note- This is my second application, my first is locked because it was made in August and although I edited it through the months, I feel that most of my earlier replies don't truly reflect me anymore, I have matured a lot since when I first began and I realize now that I shouldn't have made the application when I was new to the forums, if I could take it back I would, but I will just leave it locked.

1. What's your in-game name?
My in-game name is Wolf_Fang_44

2. Some things about myself.
Although I usually don't give out my real name, I'm going to be open, so my real name is Hailey, I'm 14 now, I've played minecraft for a while and I enjoy playing it. I love Skyblock and have been playing on this server for a while. I'm a big gamer and have played on many different consoles.

3. What's your timezone?
My timezone is Eastern daylight time.

4. What country do you live in?
I live in Canada.

5. What languages do you speak?
I speak English, some French and I'm learning Japanese (I also know some sign language but that's not important, I just thought I might as well add it).

6. Do you have 2FA enabled?
I believe so, yes.

7. Do you have the necessary means of capturing evidence?
I'm able to take screenshots.

8. Why do you want to become a mod?
I feel that I should be a mod because I love helping people and making others days, I always try to make people happy and don't hold grudges. I try to stick up for people even if I shouldn't or the one that's causing trouble turns around and tries to scare me off or make me feel bad. I always try to fix my mistakes which I feel makes me an honest and responsible person. If I was a mod I would be able to help a lot more and it would not only help the server, but it would help me become less shy. Whenever I get stressed or upset, I usually remove myself from the situation to calm myself, so I rarely if ever freak out on people.

Kind​

I am very kind because I feel that kindness is needed to gain a person's trust and it makes it easier to communicate with people. When people are kind, it makes others happy compared to if someone is rude, everyone gets upset and it spreads.

Respectful​

I have always said that if people respect me, I'll respect them, and I do live up to that saying but I do respect people of a higher power even if they are not the kindest. Of course, I don't respect people who are disrespectful to others but I still give second chances, no one is perfect.

Helpful​

Right now, I'm only able to help by answering questions and helping to restore things that have been lost with my own items that I have to spare, I feel that if I became a mod, I'd be able to help more. I love the feeling that I've helped someone and I always try to help in everyway I can.

Unbiased​

I treat everyone equally. Even if it's a friend, if someone has done something wrong, I won't hesitate to confront them about it. I believe everyone should be treated fairly so I listen to all sides of the story and wouldn't ban unless I have full proof.

Flexible/Quick To learn​

I am a very flexible person. I pick up on things easily so I am able to learn quickly. I am also able to adapt to change and I always welcome new suggestions.

Calm​

I have always been a very calm person. I don't like to fight with people, especially those who are looking for fights because then you are just giving them what they want. I don't have any siblings but I do have many younger cousins. I have grown up around them, been beaten around by them and had to babysit them so I have a lot of patience that I feel a mod needs to have. I am able to handle criticism fairly well and I have become a lot more patient than I was when I made my first application and I can only improve.

Mature​

I am a very mature person and I don't want to be judged by my age. I want everyone to have fun and I enjoy messing around, I am also very playful but I know when I can be funny and when I have to be serious, sometimes I do mess up and make mistakes, but the best way to learn is from experience, so I learn from my mistakes to make myself better. I don't swear, nor do I tolerate the behaviour or anything else PG+ rated due to the children on the server that I don't want picking up the bad language or learning bad things. If I am enforcing rules and confronting someone that has done something wrong, I will not mess around.

Responsible​

I have always been a responsible person. If I promise to do something I'll make sure it gets done and if I make a mistake, I will own up to it. I feel that to be a mod, you need to be responsible and as a mod, I would always make sure to live up to the expectations.

Open-minded​

I always make sure to listen to everyone, (I'm a good listener) whether it's about personal problems, server problems or just because they need to talk I always listen and try to help and give advice. I love to be confronted with new ideas and challenges and I feel that a mod needs to be open-minded since they face many different challenges everyday.

Wise​

I know many things about minecraft and the server and I'd love to share my knowledge. I feel that if I was a mod, people would turn to me more and I'd be given more opportunities to share my knowledge and help. I am always seeking new information and will continue to do so to keep the server in running order. I am a straight A student and I think on logical terms since math and language are my strongest so I do consider myself fairly smart.

Welcoming​

I personally think that mods need to be welcoming because with such a high rank, it's easy to intimidate people, especially new people therefore I always try my best to be as welcoming as possible.

Loyal and Dedicated​

I love skyblock and I don't quit after a few months, I'm committed to helping and even when I become bored and have nothing to do, I still push myself to stay on and not give up like most people do. I'm a very shy person (I've been diagnosed with anxiety disorder) so skyblock is like my getaway from my regular life, it's almost like I'm a different person on here because I'm more open and less shy. I am also someone who makes sure that the rules are followed, I am not the strictest of people but I also don't let things slide. I spend a lot of time on the server and if I was a mod, I think I would be able to enforce the rules better since not everyone takes me seriously right now. I've also noticed some people becoming really inappropriate lately and I want to put a stop to that.

I Know the Rules​

Although I make mistakes sometimes and there are probably things that I don't know yet, I know the rules and try to make sure everyone follows them. I feel that if I got the [Mod] tag, it would be easier for me to help and get people to take me seriously. I am always keeping myself up to date with the server and checking to see if people need help, aren't following rules or if something has changed, and I'm always seeking new information on the server to keep people up to date. If I tell someone that something is illegal, I also try to add an alternative that is legal.

Mini-Modding/Helpful​

I often like to do mini-modding while I'm online, especially if no mods are on. I know that mods are very busy so I try to help them so they can focus on the big problems. I usually deal with things like sorting out fights, griefing, scamming, answering questions, helping new people get started ect. I, not having a donor rank myself, know that people without the donor ranks are sometimes ignored or unnoticed so I always keep my eyes open for people with not only donor ranks (although it's rare) but for greenies and people with green names that are requesting help and are unable to make their text more noticeable. I feel that by doing this, I already have a bit of 'experience' at a part of being a mod. I don't ask if people need help in chat, I simply pm people that request it.

Active​

I am very active in the game and on the forums, although compared to others I may not seem to be a very old member, I do believe I am quite experienced.

9. What time are you on/how long can you be active on the server everyday?
I'm usually on almost all day in the summer and in the evening during school months. I'll put a list but I most likely will usually be on for more or less time depending on what's going on in my life. This list is purely an estimate.

School Days:

Saturday and Sunday: 4-8 hours (I know, that's a lot of time :confused

10. How long have you been playing Skyblock?
I believe I have been on this server for around a year, I'm pretty sure I made an account on the forums a few months after I started although it may have been longer, time really flies.

11. Have you ever been banned?
I've never been banned and don't plan on being banned from any minecraft server or forum.

12. Do you have any past experience as being a mod?
Other than the mini-modding and taking care of my cousins, I've never been an actual moderator before but everyone has to start somewhere, right?

13. Do you meet the requirements for staff?
I believe I do.

I believe that's all I need to put down, sorry that it was so long, I hope I can be considered as a moderator! Even if I could just be given a chance to prove myself worthy of being a mod would be amazing for me, thanks taking your time to read this application and any corrections or suggestions is greatly appreciated. You disqualified yourself faster than a fat man in a musical chairs contest. Why do people do this? You do not get some sort of "extra app points" for listing past errors.

If you want to start fresh then delete the other application. Making a new request and then referencing the old one while saying "If I could take it back I would" is utterly bizarre. You can delete your old thread at any time:

Alright, found it. These two posts are almost carbon copies of each other. I read them both, then compared them side by side. You've changed less than thirty words and added one section for "Active".

Everything else is exactly the same from six months ago, including items like "The warps need to be updated". Why did you make a second post if it is a perfect copy of 99.84% of the original...?

I am beyond confused now, just moving on. Recommend you delete this new thread and go back to the locked one--an older job application that you've been working on says a lot of good things about perseverance and handling criticism well.

The server gets drunk every other night and ban hammers people like Odin at a Whac-A-Mole. You have never been accidentally "flybanned" or anything? That's impressive, ma'am.

With a couple more sour grapes, you could make whine. You started out very well with "I love helping" but then headed directly into a pretty obvious personal story about someone making you feel bad. Remove the second part, or not: My opinions don't mean much.

Or a construction contractor. Honesty is about telling the truth; responsibility is about fulfilling obligations. Being honest about your mistakes and taking responsibility to fix them is called "atonement". Possible rewrite here, ma'am.

If you are shy, easily stressed out and get upset quickly then look for something less visible than "Moderator" to start. Moderators are (almost literally) lightning rods for abuse and filth; you won't get a lot of understanding because of how shy you are. If anything it will make them come after you more.

Recommend taking a speech class at school; public speaking gets you over being shy OR teaches you to cope with it pretty quickly. Alternatively try introducing yourself to people you're not likely to meet again (supermarket, store, etc). Less pressure on that method because you know you'll never see each other afterwards.

Honesty is a lot like a sunburn: The more of it you have, the less you need to talk about it. Because it's obvious.

There are many things you can list as experience; for example from your post you mentioned having to mediate between a lot of cousins to keep them under control. That sounds a lot like policing server chat and slapping rule breakers to me. Maybe think it over and update your section?

I listed a past error because I know that it wasn't right, but I'm not going to run from that fact, which is why I haven't deleted the application. If others agree I should delete it (and trust me, I've thought about deleting it more than once) I'll delete it, but otherwise it's staying right there.

I do realize they look like copies, but if you looked at the original, you would see that it's been edited and I have also stated right at the beginning that the old one was edited, as it has been many times. The original simply answered the questions in the shortest way possible with a huge paragraph for the 'why I should be a mod' section, if I still had a copy of it I would reverse it, but I don't and I'm not going to try to rewrite it since I can't remember how I worded it.

Well I was stating that I've put that there, but if it bugs you that much I'll remove it.

I have that up there to state that I won't just leave if the person barks back at me, that's all.

I'm honest to admit I made a mistake, and responsible to fix that mistake, that's what I meant by this.

I know what I'd be up against by being a moderator, and I feel it would help me. As far as I know you don't have the disorder I have, so you don't understand what it's like, for me it's not as simple as just doing speeches and such.

Also: Most of these threads are abandoned if they don't get Mod in a month or two. An eight month old application that you're still actively working on? That is outstanding. Why "reset the clock"...?

I did read the locked thread, then put them in windows side-by-side and scrolled them both. They looked almost perfectly identical. Did I find a different application? There are only two, right...?

We assume you are already honest. Just like we assume you're a human and not a robo-poster. It's always a little odd when someone suddenly starts announcing how truthful they are.

This reply was amusing to me and doesn't reflect badly on you, ma'am. It's a "grammar pundit" thing, you had a double subject in your sentence and it makes your modifier a little unclear.

The red highlights are (possible) subjects of the sentence, the blue is the sentence modifier:

So your modifier (differently) could apply to both subjects. This was amusing only to me, don't worry about changing.

It's just a coincidence that green happens to be the non-donor color (unless Cypriot is secretly making a very subtle reference). I don't think you understood what the word meant so I didn't fault you for it other than to make a joke. Now you know, ma'am.

It is true, Hailey. It doesn't matter at all, I could give you 1,000,000% support and it wouldn't make any difference. But if you're asking would I believe you'd be a good Moderator? Yes.

 

Honestly, the main reason I restarted was because I was not used to the forums when I made my first application, so looking back on how I reacted at the beginning, there is some cringe worthy stuff, and some still like to use the feedback against me for the fact that they're there, as if they were recent.

Yeah there's only two, I'm not sure if you have this but I can see when the thread was last edited, and I edited mine from the original application, so this was basically another edit with a fresh comments section. If someone removed all the earlier comments from my locked application, I would happily just go back to that, but I don't want to bother anyone to do that since it's so big. This wasn't the most efficient way to refresh the comments, but it was the only way I could think of.

I'd like to know what you would like me to add on the "Why I should be a Mod" part because I originally had a huge paragraph but was then told I was repeating myself so it's all in my traits now, I'd like to avoid going through this again. Also, yes, my activity on the forums has dropped. I'm working on getting it back to normal though

 

To her defense cyp didn't make the nick greenie for what you stated. He didn't make it at all. I'm pretty sure darkeh or goldchain invented it and it's because they're green in chat and It makes them feel lower than donors since we had gold names back then (TBH no skygod and donor100 was gold)
