What is rate abusing?

Hi all!

Was being nosey earlier, scrolling through the gossip and I noticed someone had been banned for "rate abusing"!

Can you tell me what this is exactly, or direct me to a section on forums where it explains this?

It is when you rate a lot of posts from a certain person in a short period of time. The ratings could be positive or negative. These ratings are usually not genuine.

 

Rate abusing is basically as it states, abusing the ratings

For Example if I like everything on my profile just to do it, that would be rate abusing
Another one would be for example purposely repeatedly giving positive or negative ratings to someone over and over.

 

Rate abusing shouldn't be considered abuse because ratings don't mean money or anything lmao. I don't know which moron decided to list it in the forum rules.

 

Actually it is a good rule to have. Would you like to have someone constantly give you negative ratings over and over everytime you post something?

Why would someone care about the red number on their profile or red pixels on the Minecraft server-related forums? That just sounds dumb.
Personally, I don't care about anyone's opinion in the Internet or the world. Therefore, I don't give a single sheet if anyone doesn't support my ideas or dislikes my posts. Everyone has the right to have their own opinion about anyone and I'm not going to put any effort or force into making someone change it over me.
If you are unable to deal with the critique, then I suggest you quit the Internet and never go on it ever again.

 

Uh yeah I actually really like the rude ratings people give me. It shows that my well thought out insults actually mean something.

 

Sounds like sarcasm. And didnt mean it in that sense I meant its annoying and when people look at your profile, likely more people will think you aren't a good person.

 

I think Ashura is trying to say something like: Ex. Someone kept rating you bad spelling even though you had perfect grammar.

 

You'll know my sarcasm when you see it. I love my negative ratings because it just shows how salty people truly are. Plus I have over double the positive ratings I do messages, so therefore I'm still not seen as a bad person. Although I might as well be one.

 

Who would even bother doing that.
