Hey, there. Thank you for clicking on my moderator application, it is much appreciated. Before you begin reading, let me tell you a little information about myself:

I’ve been with the .NET server for a while, I’ve seen it change and develop into the server we all know and love today. I’ve watched as the mods have rotated and changed, and the amazing work and qualities that they have each brought to the server.

I’m usually online towards the latter parts of the day, although on weekends, I’m often on in the morning. If you don’t see me on, it could be due to this or just timezones in general.

If you’re still curious, and wish to know more about me, you can read my introduction by clicking here.

    What is your in-game name?

Iblyxe. My nickname on the server is ‘Blyx’.

My in-game username is pronounced 'Ib-lix'.

Side note: I used to go by the name 'Timson19', as well as 'Timson_Alice' before changing my in-game name to what it is currently: 'Iblyxe'. Timson19 is also now my alternate account.

    Which timezone are you in?

UTC+00:00, (GMT) I live in the United Kingdom.

    Which languages do you speak?

My first language is English; however I am currently taking German for GCSE. My knowledge of French is very minimal, as I dropped it 2 years ago, however I would be able to decipher a sentence or two if need be. I try to use correct grammar and punctuation where applicable, aiding in getting my point across clearly.

    Have you ever been banned?

No, I’ve never been banned, or kicked for disobeying the rules. I don’t tend to do things that jeopardise my position/ rank on the server. I am responsible and mature, two points that I pride myself on.

Why do you think you should be a mod?

I am a long-term player of this server, playing over a span of 2 years. Due to this I have a firm understanding of the rules, as well as the commands required to help enforce the guidelines/ rules within the server community. I am knowledgeable about different permissions, island commands, and perks that are received from donations. In addition, I have been playing vanilla minecraft for a long time. Because of this, I know most to all of the crafting recipes (pre 1.9). With this expertise I will be able to help any player who is struggling to craft something if they are new to minecraft/ the server. Currently, I have 4 guides open in the 'Guides and "How to"' section of the forums. These guides cover various topics, which newer players may struggle with, or not understand.

With past experience of being a moderator, I am very much aware of the speed at which direct help needs to be provided to keep the entertainment of the players at its best. The same applies for the punishment deployment for rule breakers. As I already keep a sharp eye on the chat feed and am helping players, and answering questions, as often as I can, I feel I have a very good grasp of this skill.

I am a responsible and mature member of this community. I will gladly help you, or just talk to you if you need. I understand the certain level of confidentiality required where the internal side of moderation is concerned, and the importance of not sharing certain information. My forums account is also secure with a strong password, as well as the two factor authentication method, reducing the risk of unwanted damage. My minecraft account is secure. My previous account, Timson19, was shared; however due to my past positions and security reasons I have my own account. The laptop I use is also fully owned by me, and requires a password to get in. That password is unknown to anyone else in my family, or to anyone who may be able to access my computer.

On top of what I have already mentioned, I have a relatively good grasp with the forums, and how they are operated. Partly this is due to my previous experiences with using them to connect and bond with the community on the servers I have moderated on before, but also due to being in contact with them for so long. My knowledge in these areas includes how to lock and move posts, how to remove posts from public view, how to edit posts due to vulgarity or language as well as delete them.

In addition, I am an organised person/ member of this community. Rarely, in my previous experiences, have I muted the wrong person down to tabulating the incorrect username, or helped the wrong player by mistaking them for sending the request for help. Usually, unless severely rushed, my work is neat and methodical. I have a good memory, and a sense of order. When a player has asked for help, I will make sure that they will not be forgotten, and that they have received the best possible service for that situation before moving on to the next player.

Despite the amount of new moderators that have been promoted in the last few months, there is still a time when I am online, and a member of staff is not. I have witnessed the type of chaos that the server easily descends into when there is nobody online to moderate it. In addition to this, there are still people who need help. Even with the amount of new moderators we have, many people are still requesting help with the various issues they have, to little or no avail.

Another skill much required when working closely with other players and staff members is patience. I have learned that being frustrated and rude to the community, is not only a demotable offence, but also does not get you anywhere with the situation you are handling.

Along with patience, there is a level of understanding which knits in with the position. Many people apply for the position of mod because they have had the unfortunate experience of being affected by another’s atrocious actions. I too, have had the experience of being scammed (on many an occasion), been bridged to (before /trust and /visit were introduced) and even griefed and raided. I would like to give back to the community, just like the mods that helped me in those situations.

As I mentioned in my first paragraph of this section, I have been a member of this server community for well over 2 years. I am a dedicated player, always returning to spend my free time here. I feel that to be able to fill the job of a moderator well, a level of dedication (combined with patience!), is needed.

Furthermore, my nature is hard-working. If I am set a task, I will not stop until the goal is reached, and if possible the players/ player involved are happy. In the period of time I was a moderator for another server, I was efficient, and strived to never miss a mute/ kick where applicable.

Another point is that I am capable of finding the balance between joking around, and being serious. This is a key skill in order to be a successful mod, as much as it is important to bond with the community you are moderating, it doesn't help the position of the player, if you are not being serious about the problem being resolved.

Before bringing this section to a close, I would also like to point out that although I do not have many posts on the forums here, I am still very active. I don’t post for the sake of message count or for likes, only commenting on threads which I want to/ need to comment on.

Finally, I am a loyal player. As was said in a previous paragraph, I have an order and methodical way of working. I am loyal, to the fact that if I've said I will help you, I will stay true to my word until the task requested is complete.

How long can you be active on the server every day?

I can be online on the server for at least 2 hours per day. On most days, or weekends, I will play for longer than this; however this depends on the amount of work I get from school. Generally, I don’t have many commitments outside of school, meaning that I can be relatively active in game, let alone on the forums.

Do you have any past experience as a moderator?

I have previously moderated on 2 different servers. On one server, I had the role of a chatmod before being promoted to ChatMod+, and on the other, a trial moderator through to an admin. The only reason I left these positions was due to internal changes within the server combined with personal issues that occurred at the time. Having this experience in addition with the knowledge and responsibility of certain commands I believe I am suited for the task of becoming a trial moderator.

Although I have had these experiences, they were both smaller servers with a player base reaching from 20 – 100 players. Despite this being said, I assure you that I have the capabilities to moderate on a much larger server, and I am willing to give what it takes in the process of learning to become even better at the given task.

As a final note, I would like to say that I am aware that I only returned from a long period of inactivity in November. This was due to the staffing commitments that I held before. As I have already stated in one of my previous paragraphs, I am a dedicated and loyal player. If I have a job to do, or a responsibility to take care of, I will complete the task to the best of my abilities before moving on.

Well written, very few errors. I'm having the weirdest sense of déjà vu here, have I read through this before...? Some of the phrasing and sections you have look exactly like edits I would suggest.

Other than shortening a few sections-- chop down that "Why do you think you should be a Mod?" bit-- nothing too outrageous. Pleasant to read, especially like the subtle color changes between paragraphs.

Imaginary Support Status: 100%. See you in-game, sir.

    Thank you for your feedback.

I can assure you that these are not copied, pasted and thus edited sections. The paragraphs I have, were all written by myself from scratch. The only thing used to guide the answer was the question itself, and the notes with the subject of the paragraph I'd drafted prior to writing it.

It is a possibility that you have read my updated introduction (linked in the first red paragraph), which is structured very similarly to this.

I will see what I can do in regards to this. Thank you.

THAT IS WHY YOU SEEM FAMILIAR. Your introduction is one of the first forum posts I commented on here at Skyblock. Thank you for clearing that up, it would have annoyed me most of the day.

    Thank you.

I understand that you are mostly on .ORG, occasionally visiting .NET. However, is there anything that I could still work on, forums wise etc?

    Thank you for your feedback.

Will do. I'm not as active in the chat as I'd quite like to be, despite always keeping an eye on it. However, when I am, it's usually answering questions instead of general conversation. As far as the forums are concerned, I'm posting as often as I see fit, as well as creating guides for the newer members of the community to follow.
