Highlighted name in regular chat suggestion

Dear CypriotMerkz,

I have a suggestion. I was thinking for the people who chat instead of messaging to each other and sometimes don't see their friends chat because of the message disappearing. Some people chat because messaging takes a while. When I do this, sometimes I lose my friends chat halfway through reading it or I cant find it at all. I think that if someone mentions your name in chat, it should be highlighted in pink. That way, people will be able to find it easier. I also think that if someone mentions a fragment of your name, you should be able to see it highlighted in pink as well. Example: Hey Fiercewolf91, let's go to /warp skybase! Or Hey Fierce! On one hand, only the highlighted name should be able to see it highlighted. This would much further prevent losing

 

Using colors in chat is a donor25+ (main chat) privilege.

/msg isn't really that difficult.
When you message someone, use /r after the 1st message.

ex:
/msg Agentdogzrule Hey c:
[me -> [Mod] Agent] Hey c:

/r Hello
[[Mod] Agent -> me] Hello

/r idk, bored xD
[me -> [Mod] Agent] idk, bored xD

 

I would have to agree that it is a donor 25+ feature

 

The whole idea is that only the name would be highlighted automatically, as it would not be a privilege.

 

You would not need to use color codes.

So like have your UUID linked up to your name in chat?
Well if people say Lemonade in chat, they might not be referring to me. I will have to say that you should have the option of disabling this.

Although this would be a good idea, this would be hard to make happen because it's hard where only you can see highlighted name. Therefor, I'll stay Neutral.

 

I play on a server where it highlights your IGN and makes a ding sound. It's so annoying. Just /msg the person.

 

This will cause spam and will be a major issue. People's names most of the time just aren't that unique. It would constantly mistake actual words for people's names. No support.

Im gonna stay neutral atm, because like adrian says there are problems with it. Such as us having nicknames. If we did have the pluggin would it use our proper igns or are nics?.. Plus ive had people copy my name.. So this could cause problems. This is a good idea, but there maybe a lot of problems with it too

No support, I think it would just spam chat more than what already happens. Also, if someone has a similar name to you, or your name is an item etc. it could get quite confusing.

 

Isn't this a minechat feature where you would get a notif if your name is said in chat?
