A change to /kit cooldown

No support, my opinion: tough luck You have to log in to get the kits, and if you cant get online to log in, you can't get your kit. It has never really bothered me, because I know it's only ever my fault that I missed the kit.
Also it would be pretty awkward, with timezones and such.

 

Isn't fair for those on the other opposite timezones who may have it reset before they login. I used to have that issue on a website with daily rewards. You could miss something of you logged before reset one day then after the next day. You'd miss a day in a span of an hour difference.

As well as the same thing would happen had this not been added... So that makes no sense to me. Also, the worst thing is it splits your day so you have to wait for it in the afternoon. If you miss one, well people have to do that when theirs gets too late anyways

You misunderstand, I believe. If it resets at 12:00 and I long on before 12:00 and never stay on after 12:00, I'd get my kit everyday normally. But let's say I log on at 12:10 one day because life happened, like it does. Well I'd still get a kit, but the next day I'd have to wait until after 12:00 to get my kit, or go back to my normal schedule and miss out on a day.

Your timezone doesn't cause this. If you've missed the kit because you logged in after the reset then that means you haven't been on in the last 24 hours to claim it which is the real reason you missed your kit.

I don't see how timezones would have any impact, as I've said, the voting sites have this implemented and I'm able to vote everyday because I'm not restricted to voting at the exact same time every day.
This system would avoid having that time pushed back and back to the point where people have to stay up late to claim it or just miss it for the day even though they were able to log in every day.

 

A full 24 hour cooldown ensures that only the committed can have their kit "daily" and it doesn't allow people who just log in, during some free time to accumulate items without actually committing time into the server.

Also timezones have everything to do with it, because it resets at a different "time" for everyone.

If you log on at 12:10 and get your kit, then under the current system, you would actually have to wait until 12:10 the next day, not 12:00 as you've said. The system Ive suggested would allow you to only wait until 12:00 which gives greater flexibility.

 

But that's 10 minutes, not a day. And in my example you would continue to have to get it after 12 which like I said, you wouldn't normally do. And it's not any different in the current system, except that if you don't log in anytime during the reset. Which would be great, except it affects those who do.

I don't believe that that is the intention of Skyblock. The shop states that you can get these kits every day (not 24 hours since you last claimed it) . It makes no demands that you must then stay online and play. Also I don't think the crew would be demanding such commitment. Obviously I can't speak for them but I've always found that they are fair and understanding. Several people have pointed out that they too end up staying up later and later at night to claim the kits and I don't think it's a healthy habit.
I don't think many, if any people would just log in daily to get kits and not play, there is no point to that and that could still be done under the current system.

 

With my suggestion, there is no scenario where you can miss an entire day unless you fail to log in for an entire day.
You have 24 hours in which to vote, you can vote only once in this 24 hours so it doesn't matter when you log in so long as you do so at least once every 24 hours.

Just sidetracking a little, do you know if you can use the /kit command on Minechat and receive the goods when you log in, as happens with voting? I only have the free version which allows me to see chat but not to chat myself.

 

As I said before, I would like the suggested system, but please don't ignore it's flaws but instead offer fixes. Having one specific time for players, instead of it being based off when you got it last, seems unperfect. How about it resets when you choose (once)? Based off your timezone? Or the time you collect, the first time after its implemented? I need suggestions not shooting down my valid points.

Sorry If it seems like I'm shooting you down mate, really not my intention. Perhaps I'm not fully grasping what you're saying.
I agree though, if the time you next vote sets your personal reset time then that would work too. In fact that's how the voting sites systems work. Obviously you could only set it once and it be set for good.

Maybe this will help with my previous points, one day, and 24 hours, for some people is not the same thing. If the reset is at noon, and I play in the morning one day, and at night the next, then my login times are like 34 hours apart, but I logged in daily.

With the suggested system, if you logged in like this then you would be able to get your kit both times you logged in regardless of whether the reset was at midnight or midday. I.e. you would get your kit every day.
But under the current system logging in like this would push your next kit out until night time of the next day. This is precisely the scenario that the suggested system will help with. It would allow you to vote every day regardless of when you log in
