Probably to ensure its working right. Adding it before the party would require a restart, then given the amount of lag and login issues it would be very problematic. It is better to get it in early than cause a disruption later on.
But this just lengthens the disruption as there are several people in this household that play on this server. Some of us who don't give a hoot for the drop party. I understand you wanting to limit alts, but shared IP's don't necessarily equal alts.
I'm not sure the real reason it is early, I am guessing based on experience. There are events we don't give a hoot about irl yet the roads are closed for everyone and there are detours. We just grin and bear it. Its best to just wait it out and maybe the restriction will change or the restriction will be lifted and reinstated. Guess for the day its all about taking turns playing games.
I'll survive, I just have to decide which child gets to take part in the drop party. Maybe I will and if I get anything, I will give it to which ever child pleases me the most over the next week!
What is the alt limit? I need at least 2-3 on because my friends are coming to do some stuff at mine and have some drinks - each of which are bringing laptops so we can do the drop party quickly mid-way through.
What do you mean restricted? Do you mean why only 1 alt? To make it fair, and we don’t care if you have siblings or whatnot, plus we don’t know for sure if they are siblings. Or do you mean you were banned? Most alts were just simply kicked, then others were banned for a bit for repetitive attempts to use an alt. If you were banned, you might need to make a appeal or reach out to who temp banned you.
No, not banned, just restricted to one account on this IP. None of my cohort were online during the drop party nor were attempting to be. I'm just asking why the restriction is still in place hours after the drop party.
Perhaps restrictions were set up prior to the event, as we didn’t want alts, then when the event ended, we forgot to remove it. It’s unclear if anyone else experiences the same problem yet. You can try talking to other people with alts.
