Intel 6th gen unlocked processors do not include a cooler, even when it's a box item. The standard cooler Intel provides isn't enough to properly cool them, so they don't bother. Source: I build custom desktops on a daily basis.
Wow thank you for that information. So what should I take for a cooler? Any advice? I won't assemble a water cooler myself so if it has to be water, I will take a ready-made closed system.
Depends on your budget. If you just want a cheap air cooler, look at the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 or 13. Personally I would got for a closed loop liquid cooler, especially if you plan on overclocking in the future. Check out the Corsair h60i or the NZXT Kraken X31.
Haha, already ordered, went for the corsair H110. It has two 140mm fans. And I finally took a nanoxia deep silence 2 tower. Don't care about the window, I just wanted good cable management and good areation. I will be able to put the two water cooling fans on the top. Although it's a isolated tower, I'm just a little concerned about the noise level as it will have a total of 6 fans. Total price incl. CPU and cooler mounting service: 777€ Thank you for your feedbacks
Hello! Here are a few pictures of my PC I am currently upgrading so hold on..... x3 (Also sorry about the grease marks I was eating potato chips. :cylops X3)
Thanks I am going to be completely honest with you; I don't know THE FIRST THING about my PC. My 13 year old brother told me what to buy online and when it arrived he put it together for me my mom and dad helped me pay. I was hoping that you can shed some light on this unknown mystery... maybe if I show you a few more pictures you may recognise something?
It could be a Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce. Nice card. What I do not understand is why you use a DVI to HDMI adapter when this card comes standard with one HDMI plug directly on the card (last picture). I cannot tell what the rest of the build contains based upon your picture, except for the cooler... but if you have a 970 I presume that the rest won't be lower standard.
