In-game I can dedicate a few hours daily, and I am almost always reachable on discord. I have formed a habit of popping in on the forums to lurk, and happily partake where I can.


When did you first join Skyblock?:

I have known about skyblock for ages. TheSonicNarwhal joined October 2020. Since then I have since reset my island a few times, once by mistake (taught me resilience), and another time to have a fresh start. So I’ve been around the block a couple times but only really started getting my roots firmly planted in Nov 2023.


Have you ever been banned on any platform?:

No, except for one time I was caught being “underage” regarding discords TOS. Got that sorted out with discord support.


Do you have any past moderation experience?:

Yes, twice. The first time in 2012 on a lowkey survival/pvp server with on average 30-60 players. While moderating that server, I learned the basics of in-game moderation and how anti-grief plugins work. The second time I was a moderator on a prominent hunger games server that I was obsessed with in 2013-2016. Being a PVP based server there was an endless queue of in-game reports on the forums. Ranging from in-chat issues to “stream sniping” and hacking. These reports would need to be analyzed by an unbiased third party before action could be taken. Although, I have never been a discord mod as these servers used teamspeak.


Why do you think you should become a staff member?:

I think I should be a staff member so I can really put my varied experience to good use on skyblock. I understand that my mod experience may be considered outdated at this point, so I am very interested in being taught the ropes again. That being said, the foundational qualities that make me a good helper beyond the actual role are still prevalent. I am eager and passionate to see this server thrive for another 10 years. If that means investing more of myself in the community, I will happily do that. I consider myself to be open-minded to all perspectives, I am willing to work with you if you’re willing to work together. I am always open to constructive criticism as it usually comes from a good place. I acknowledge the commitment behind accepting the helper role and look forward to putting my skills to use.

Trustworthy: I have no interest in stealing from others for my own benefit. You could ask me to hold onto items for you while you take a break, and rest assured they’d be returned. Information is sensitive and I respect privacy. I have no hidden agenda, and seek to maintain purity for all around.

Empathetic: I can easily put myself in other people's shoes. I have a soft spot for people who keep asking for help but won’t be heard. Everyone has a different set of gifts that need to be embraced if we are to grow as a server.

Friendly: I always approach new relationships with an open mind, you never know who the person behind the name may actually be. I don’t mind boosting players who are genuine, but yet held back by lack of gamesense or supplies. Net worth goes up and down, and I am in a position to help, as such I do so without question.

Knowledgeable/Quick Learner: I have been playing minecraft for a long time, since 2011. Naturally this leads to knowing things that a new player will struggle with getting right. I am happy to share my knowledge where it is needed. I am experienced in installing mods on fabric/forge/vanilla instances of minecraft, so I can help with that too. I am not afraid to ask questions when I don’t know something, and will seek out the answer myself if need be.

Problem Solving/Teamwork: I prefer to view problems as challenging puzzles. Every challenge in life for me is approached in a thorough and calculated manner, just as you would with a large puzzle. When a team’s involved, we’re all pitching in our energy towards achieving a common goal and we reach that goal much quicker together.
