Skyblock Skyblock Update - April 30, 2018

Skyblock professionals--

The last week has been very busy behind the scenes. Most of the fixes were not very "flashy" but make some fundamental improvements to efficiency and underlying mechanics. Here is a snapshot of recent changes and efforts:

• Island boundaries now behave correctly in all quadrants of the map.
• Boundaries now correctly handle all of the following:
  • Water/lava flow-- liquids stay within the buildable area of the owner's island.
  • Pistons-- Cannot extend, push or pull blocks outside of buildable area of owner's island.
  • Changebiome-- Stops at the edge of the island instead of messing with the neighbor.
• Newisland now removes island blocks 24000% faster (not an exaggeration) and does not lag the entire server.
• A bug where replacing an island would "slice off" a bit of the neighboring plot has been removed.
  
• A bug with Coop invites no longer creates duplicate islands.
• Dispensers can no longer be used over island boundaries.
• Players can no longer use splash potions on others' islands unless:
  • They are coop members.
  • They are /trusted.
  • The island has "PvP" enabled.

• Hotfix: Fire arrows now respect PvP settings.

Great fix to the islands. Only down side is there is no true center to your island now. Fully expanded islands are 200×200.

 

It seems that the default island size was changed from 101x101 to 99x99 because I can no longer place blocks along the edges of my island. Please change this because I build some things along the border and I cant place blocks there anymore. If this is not because of the update or there is something I can do to change this please let me know.

 

Is it possible to remove blocks which are outside of my island now somehow ?

 

Only way is to get a mod to do it for you.

 

The correct starting island size is 99x99. The was previously a math error that was causing island boundaries to be calculated incorrectly, and that was causing island edges to be lost when their neighbors started a new island. To fix the problem, we had to correct the math error.

If you've built outside your allowed island bounds, I can remove or relocate those blocks for you. Just send me a message on forums with your IGN and a screenshot of what you need removed or relocated and what you want me to do with them and I'll be happy to help.

The allowed island sizes are 99x99, 149x149, and 199x199, centered on your bedrock, as shown at shop.skyblock.net:



For fully expanded islands, we also allow you to build on one extra row along the east and south edges of your island to allow you to fill the 1 block gap between neighboring islands. You don't have to fill in this gap if you would rather have your island perfectly centered.
