No support; people can share the same nickname, so even if a plug-in was found or created that implemented this idea, it would be impossible for it to tell which player was being specified. Also, because of /realname, this suggestion wouldn't save much time. Instead of, by your suggestion, /visit BobWithNick, it's currently /realname BobWithNick then /visit Bob. It's not that hard.
If people's /nicks weren't already IGNs of other players, they'd probably change their IGNs to that. There are a lot of nicks that would overlap with other players, and so offline /visit wouldn't work. I wouldn't be too offended if /visit worked like how /msg works, in that you can write part of the player's nick or IGN and it sends it to the closest match. For example, if you typed /visit Lyc it would send you to my (Lycel) island, unless there was someone whose IGN was Lyc.
What if nicks were also made to not be the same as someone else's nick or anybody's username? Which is sort of easy to do.
No support, /realname is there so we can use it. It's a lot of effort for not simply looking up a player's name. It is a good suggestion, but too much effort, and it could be glitchy! c:
I'm sorry, but I really know that it isn't too much effort. I have created and edited plugins myself and this wouldn't be a difficult project. It also wouldn't be glitchy. IF it even was, all of the glitches would be worked out in testing before actually implementing it into the server.
Ah, well what if there were players with the same username as the one that you're trying to visit. Let's say that you wanted to visit WiFi for example, you did /visit Illegal, and it took you to another island. Wouldn't that be annoying?? And besides, would it be your own mod?
Laini, it can be made so there are no duplicate nicks and no nicks that match names. Also, no, it wouldn't be my plugin.
